As a teacher, I'm lucky enough to be in school on WBD this year and have a book out, so I'm doing a KS2 assembly first thing on Thursday. That's my happy place - getting to be the author for them rather than a teacher they pass. And I'll see a child as one of my characters! But I think I'm unusual.

Me, writing for upper MG audience: Hmm, 'trepidation' is a challenging word. considers changing it to 'unease' Nope. They're getting 'trepidation' because this is how we learn new words - inference! I don't write down to kids, and I'm sorry to any readers who get upset by the complex vocabulary.
