Wow. What a privilege to be invited to #AKnockOnTheRoof @royalcourt.bsky.social by the captivating Khawla Ibraheem. Not only a brilliant play in its own right but a powerful insight into the individual within a collective experience. It is important to bear witness. Theatre at its most effective 👏👏

Our petition with @equityuk.bsky.social and @societyofauthors.bsky.social to Save Audio Drama at the BBC has reached over 10,000 signatures Help us reach the next goal! #SADatTheBBC www.change.org/p/save-audio...

We really don’t. That’s a plain fact www.theguardian.com/culture/2025...

Wow, this is an excellent read 👏

Happy to be one of 175,000 people marching on the US embassy in solidarity with the Palestinian people. We will not be complicit in ethnic cleansing, we will keep making noise #FreePalestine

🚨Now: hundreds of thousands marching for Palestine in London 🇵🇸

Had my first visit to @theyardtheatre.bsky.social to see my remarkable friend Nicole Sawyerr & the wonderful @debrabaker33.bsky.social & Sam Armfield. I saw this at the fringe and it remains as funny & powerful as it was. So glad more people get to see it, congrats @charlottebennett.bsky.social 👏

What if Charlotte actually IS Welsh and is PRETENDING not to be Welsh so she can pretend to be pretending to be Welsh to pull the wool over ALL our eyes??? #TheTraitors

Nooooooo not Minah 😭 she was supposed to win it all. #TheTraitors

In these darkened days and rough seas be a lighthouse for someone. Be humane in a seemingly inhumane world. Turn your light on and keep it burning brighter than ever. That’s how we survive, and how ultimately we’ll thrive.

As a theatre girly this is a wonderful read, what a career, what a full life she had ❤️

Thankyou! She is such a treat to play. Tonight’s episode was a real gift, written by Liz John 🙏

Please oh please let it hold, let it be the beginning of the end of this hell, let the Palestinian people know peace and true freedom 🇵🇸

Relieved to hear a ceasefire may have been reached Also furious and heartbroken at the unfathomable level of death and destruction that has happened up to this point Over a year of this war, tens of thousands of lives lost, countless families destroyed forever - even wiped out - and for what?

Really enjoyed my first visit to @arcolatheatre.bsky.social can’t believe it’s taken me this long! Excellent vibes! A very special performance by the incomparable Georgie Henley in #Tarantula Its only on for a couple of weeks so don’t miss out, such a tour de force 👏

Plans to cut audio drama from BBC Radio 3 have been labelled a “devastating loss for writers and actors alike”, with critics calling it the end of the “National Theatre of the airwaves” 👇 www.thestage.co.uk/news/cuts-to...

Our drama schools are facing a financial crisis, shutting down opportunities for the next generation. On @theguardian.com today, Campaign for the Arts trustee Samuel West calls for "urgent action to protect and expand everyone’s access to the arts". www.theguardian.com/education/20...

Aha! Yes do finish a scheme to get working class kids into the arts by taking a show about Thatcher the Milk Snatcher to Newcastle. That’s excellent optics. Hope, as the article states, something in this vain continues as right now the legacy of Tory cuts is decimating the NE cultural scene.

This is an exciting appointment 👏

To paraphrase Freddie: Hate them all, hope they lose, Kas was too good for them 🥺 #TheTraitors

My wonderfully talented friend Nicole Sawyerr taking NYC by storm 🔥 Loving these stateside transfers, let’s keep it up!

I am devastated Yin got cut short, the tv gold this person was about to gift us. Her expert guesses would all have been wrong, her songs, her fashion???!!! 😭 #TheTraitors

The cat’s out the bag…Rochelle is REAL! Over the moon to join the cast of #TheArchers & to see everyone’s theories over xmas, my lips are sealed! It’s a privilege to be part of such a beloved institution that’s been on in our house since I was a wee bairn. A dream come true, with my darling Jackie 💞

Gisèle Pelicot. An inspiration for our time. What a courageous woman. ✊

Idris Elba sat next to us at lunch today. We were very restrained and didn’t bother him at all. Played it verrrrry coooool. So of course I need to tell the internet now.

Theatre has a vision problem. When I say vision, I mean an articulation of why a building or organisation exists. A purpose. A statement of how you want to change the world. A coherent, inspiring vision was essential to everything we did at Company Three. But so many theatres don’t have one.

We welcome today's research which PROVES that engaging with arts and culture is good for health and wellbeing, with substantial societal and economic benefits. DCMS / @uclofficial.bsky.social / @who.int 👏 www.theguardian.com/society/2024...

Radio 4 have just started a Coward season. The first one out the block has Peggy Ashcroft as Judith Bliss. She plays it for real without mannerisms. It illuminates the play. Free to listen on BBC Sounds, people of Sky

I just had one of the best days at work I’ve ever had. Little girl pinch me moments. Can’t wait to say why, but for now, just wanted to share that a very niche little humble childhood dream of mine was truly fulfilled and I’m very grateful 🥹

Aaah I look forward to these threads every year. Top work 👏

📢Announcing: the Women’s Prize for Playwriting 2025. Bigger, bolder, brighter. Submissions will open on Monday 13th January and close on Tuesday 22nd April 2025.

Present - a hard hitting but hopeful contemporary festive tale - feels like another bold choice in a year of bold choices @livetheatre.bsky.social It was really interesting to see how the show was scaled up from @alphabettitheatre.bsky.social esp. the addition of a gorgeous live soundtrack

Our review of a wonderful @alphabettitheatre.bsky.social production in association with @livetheatre.bsky.social and Crisis Skylight: Present Newcastle Live Theatre Until Saturday 21 December 2024 REVIEW: www.northeasttheatreguide.co.uk/2024/12/revi...

Overcompensated for missing out on Sam Fender last year and panic bought tickets for London AND the Toon without anyone even to go with yet. At least I have options now, in my line of work who knows where I’ll be in June!

"We are reviewing the curriculum to put arts and music back at the heart of the national curriculum where it belongs." - Lisa Nandy MP We welcome the Culture Secretary's commitment to arts education. Meaningful reform is urgently needed to reverse years of decline.

Tonight’s the night! Smoggie Queens airs after Drag Race on BBC Three and on iplayer 💖✨

The most useful function of a theatre outreach or participation department is not, as people often think, to change people outside 'in the community'. It's to change the organisation itself. (A thread - reposted from LinkedIn)

First post & shouting about the North East creative industry, how utterly predictable of me! Had the privilege of being Dialect Coach on the pilot episode of this ridiculously fabulous love letter to Middlesbrough. Can’t wait for the world to see this gem of a show. A proud moment for this NE lass 💖

Well well well…here we go again…!
