One of the small joys of being laid off on Nov is that I’ve found much more time for reading in both English and Spanish. I hadn’t read a book for pleasure in 7 years and have finished 3 in the last few weeks. Capitalism is straggling out culture it seems as I simply didn’t have time before. 🫤

Sorry to see Jimmy Carter has gone to the great beyond. I took this photo about 25 years ago, my mom on the right is a distant cousin of Carter and I got to meet him face to face and safely say he was a decent warm human being who dedicated his life to service.

I saw this post on threads and wanted to share it here. This is why so many people are ambivalent to celebratory about the death of that CEO. This is just one story of millions and why we need Medicare for All. Public systems aren’t perfect but at least no one is profiting off the misery.
