Surely nobody had *this* on their Trump II bingo card, did they?

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism. If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone. Americans of conscience must stand against this now.

Abolish ICE, that misbegotten creature of the Patriot Act. Bury every stone from every building, and salt the earth where they stood. (1/4)

It is still very weird to me that there are people who were like “nah, he’s not going to do this exact thing he keeps saying he’s going to do that is contained in a 900+ page manifesto that he and his friends have been working on for four years.”

I'm pleased that this seems to work consistently.

For the record: I like Canada, and I like Canadians. I think of Canada like a classmate that made better choices than my household did. Exhibit A: Trump talking about Canada like it's the 51st state.

My most profuse apologies for this.

Mahmoud Khalil should be at home with his pregnant wife. Instead, he's been illegally abducted & had his constitutional right to free speech & due process stripped. We're demanding his immediate release and we cannot allow this abuse of power to go unchecked. #FreeMahmoudKhalil

YouTube Music just laid this playlist of '70s hits on me, named "You Look Like You Could Use A Fuckin' Lamp". I don't know what this portends for the day, as my office is well-supplied with lamps.

Today's scripture is from Saint Harlan of Ellison: "You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant".

Reminder: there is no such thing, in the United States, as an "illegal protest".

Calling people out in the real world "NPCs" is quite a tell about the speaker's mindset: a completely fictional hierarchy of merit with the player always near the top, with those below being subhuman and their lives & property forfeit. It's culture wreckage that benefits Steve Bannon to this day.

+29 dB for an F-35 taking off from the airport 4 miles away.

This tracks: if you believe intelligence is "what you are" instead of "what you do", you sign on to the notion of an overclass that can make no mistakes and is also forever unattainable -- unless you won the birth lottery. Not too far from signing onto the "divine right of kings".
