Getting Started

The 80-year-old partnership between the federal government and research institutions has made the United States the leader in scientific innovation. But a proposed funding cut threatens the arrangement.

Our paper providing transcriptomic profiles of lateral septum (LS) cell types in human 🧠 is now online: www.cell.com/iscience/ful... All data and code are publicly available online (links in the paper) and we provide an interactive web-based app to explore the data: libd.shinyapps.io/LS_snRNAseq/

Using #FluorescenceFriday to highlight a specialized population of neurons in the lateral septum that may comprise a hormone-sensitive memory engram to suppress conditioned fear responses when females are in the high hormone phase of the reproductive cycle. Interested? Come see my talk at #ACNP2024!

Our new preprint using sex-biased genes for accurate deconvolution of sample identity in single cell transcriptomics is out! This work (led by PhD student Guy Twa and @rphillips3.bsky.social) may be useful for labs that incorporate both sexes in single cell RNA-seq. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Hi! With the neuroscience influx to bluesky, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a postdoc with @martinowk.bsky.social using cross-species approaches to study cell types and circuitry important for social behaviors that are often dysregulated in neuropsychiatric disorders.

Honored to be one of the contributing authors to this textbook! A topic near and dear to my heart...

I'm enthused to share this work with all of you! This #HabenulaLIBD 🧠 analysis we started with Josh & Erik, continued w/ Ege, Bukola, Renee is now out 🙌🏽 It's a pleasure to share co-corresponding author w/ @lahuuki.bsky.social & Kristen 1st one of many for Louise! ⏫ twitter.com/lahuuki/stat...

Make sure your PhD advisor appreciates art like mine did. Alternate title for this piece was "too hot to handle" (alternate title by @zipperlym.bsky.social )
