USWNT v Colombia (Thurs). I thought USA looked slow for the first 10-20 minutes of the game. Every gap, every spin move, every pass, we just looked off pace. But then it clicked and we looked good. Fox and Nighswonger both looked very tough and came out on top in virtually every clash.

Cs v 76ers (Thurs). Ouch, that was a beat down. Cs looked smooth. I wouldn't cry to pull more starters a bit sooner and let some of the bench work more, but hard to complain. Embiid looked ok inside, but generally awkward. Really liked how the Cs sliced up the zone D.

Can a mathy HR attorney work out what % of fed employees who have been terminated need to be unlawfully terminated and suing for their jobs back, plus back pay, plus a fine, for the "savings" to be gobbled up?

I work best with story and metaphor. I picture Trump and Musk as two teenage boys who yell out to their neighbors that they're going to prune a bunch of trees and bushes and make all the backyards really nice.

Kash Patel: "I do solemnly swear to uphold the Constitution whenever it agrees with Trump."

... because he's only interested in one person, himself. Electing such a narcissist is the peak of folly, and we'll all suffer until he becomes so grossly inept that he's tossed out on his ear.

As grim as it is, sometimes you gotta just laugh out loud...

PBS NewsHour last night had a couple foreign policy experts talking about the Russia-Ukraine war and peace talks. One of them adroitly pointed out that we could get a temp peace by giving Russia everything it wants, but that would likely jeopardize future peace in Europe.

These are literally the best people, people who have sacrificed immensely just to have the privilege of living and working in this country. And instead of lauding them and giving them every opportunity to fit in, they're persecuted. Sigh. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
