Today's pictures, the late afternoon light on the hills of the Pauatahanui inlet. I really like the way the low angle of light picks out the shape of the land. The tide was out. The trees framing the middle shot are Pohutukawa, there are a few flowers still on them.

According to legend, if you were standing here 5000 years ago, you would see a fleet arriving (in the distance) & soldiers stepping ashore, the sun glinting off their helmets and shields. You would probably be thinking "Oh no! Who has the boss upset now?" The "boss" would be Priam, King of Troy.
