Hiking in the desert I was surprised that so many saguaro cactus seem to be giving a middle finger salute. Apparently mother nature is no longer trying to be subtle in her messaging. #climatechange #arizona

Moved the bus to Quartzsite to try something different, and because my sister is here. There is a bit of a hippie vibe to the town, but conversely this is the first time I've been turned away from a park for being a bus. C'est la vie. #skoolie #nomad #Arizona

Participated in the Buckskin Mountain 5k race to The Desert Bar yesterday. 5k is easy, right. F no! Mountainous, dusty gravel path more suited to 4-wheel drive vehicles than biped homo sapiens. On the plus side, my knee survived some running. Yay! #desertdash #skoolie #arizona

After resting up in Yuma it was time to go exploring again. Headed over to tour Biosphere 2, which may be the most interesting science experiment you could ever wander through. Seriously. Look it up. #biosphere2 #skoolie #nomad #gardening

Enjoying Valentine's Day in my throuple (me, myself, and I). Hope you all are having a great day. Here's a picture of one of my roses blushing at my dumb joke. #gardening #roses

With the bus sitting still I set up my minimalist sunning/reading area. My date palm is especially happy to get outdoors. #skoolie #nomad #homeiswhereyouparkit #yumaaz

Enough fun in California. Nights were still too cold in December, so I found a nice, warm RV park in Yuma. The bus got a rest, and I got to enjoy the Yuma East Wetlands. It's an impressive wetlands restoration project right on the Colorado River. #skoolie #nomad #ColoradoRiver #YumaAZ

Big brother called one day to see what I was up to. I was wallpapering. Had to send pictures to explain to him "what the hell" I was doing. #skoolie #nomad #homeiswhereyouparkit #womenbuild

Convinced friends to join me at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden. It is truly beautiful - I want to live there, but the bus is too obvious. Didn't take any good pix, so this is from their website. #skoolie #gardening #nomad #losangelescounty

Crossed Arizona quickly, knowing that I'd get back to spend time with family & friends once they migrated this year. Was working my way to LA to visit some great friends (Hi Ike, Maki, Christy & Larry). Got some lovely pre-Christmas time with them. Saw this on a marina walk - very appropriate.

New Mexico got too cold, so on to Arizona. Driving through the desert with the mountains in the distance is always an uplifting experience. The world is a beautiful place. #skoolie #nomad #desert

Made my way casually across New Mexico keeping ahead of the cold weather. Mostly behaved myself and didn't try to make friends with the wildlife, as directed. #skoolie #nomad

From Texas into New Mexico, I was on to the next adventure. Before doing anything strenuous though, first Sunday Fun-day, which consists of checking into a nice hotel, watching as much NFL as possible and self-care all day long. Thanks, Las Cruces! #skoolie #nomad

Controversial take: Love NFL and can't wait for the Superbowl, but even the best artists are not worth watching at half-time. Lamar would be interesting if he and Drake came out riding on the shoulders of their body guards, and jousting with pool noodles. I'd watch that.

Lunch with a friend in Houston, River Walk in San Antonio and then more Texas. Driving through the middle of nowhere on Hwy 10, came across a rest stop with serious architectural forethought. Very cool! #skoolie #nomad

If I get a license plate that reads GON2PLAD are any of you going to get the reference, or am I going to spend the rest of my life explaining it? #skoolie Here's a hint

Fixing things gives me such a sense of accomplishment. The bus seller said the stereo was broken. Went online & found a factory reset. So, that was me driving through the highways in Houston screaming along with The Foo "No One's Getting Out Of Here Alive" #nomad #homeiswhereyouparkit #skoolie

Then there was Texas, lots and lots of Texas. Driving a skoolie across Texas slowly is not really an option where the speed limit is 85 mph. Lot's of beautiful views of wide open spaces. #skoolie #Texaslandcape

Traveling through southwest Louisiana I tried to find some good jambalaya. Was shocked when nobody had it on the menu. One restaurant said they could make it with 24 hours notice. WTF? Had some delicious shrimp étouffée instead. Still sad about it though. #jambalaya #louisiana

"I was standing on the corner in Lafayette", because of Paul Simon. Sometimes you need quirky little side quests. #skoolie #Louisiana

Entering Louisiana the welcome center had great staff. I said I was looking for interesting horticulture and these women found me literature on a tea company, LSU gardens, etc. They also showed me their huge Peace Lily (at least 5' tall). I made it to LSU. Tea Co on my return. #gardens #Louisiana

Skipped over one very cool thing in Tennessee: solar panels. The welcome center on I-55 had a lot of them, and a wealth of info to help people understand the workings and value of solar energy. Bravo Tennessee! #solarpower #Tennessee #skoolie

Tennessee wasn't warm either, so I made may way to Mississippi. The temperatures were good enough for me to dawdle my way through while making "home improvements". Fairly proud of my ability to template this weird area. #womenbuild #skoolie
