The sky was clear at the start the day but it had clouded over when I headed out for a steady 6 miler. I welcome Spring’s arrival but I also enjoy the leafless silhouette of an oak #running #oak

Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus! Icy conditions that gave way to warm sun greeted the 820 runners/walkers in NE Wales (144 more than last year) with 116 volunteers supporting. The course I did goes past the Cup & Saucer - a weir providing water to a hydraulic ram. #running #parkrun

Over 7 miles today in two halves - dropping off a works vehicle for its service and running back to the office, and then running back at the end of the day to collect it. The closest I’ll get to being paid to run #running #runchat

Easy run tonight which took us past a spring’s outlet. It arises under a row of houses and was routed into the street below a long time ago #running

Early start to get ahead of the bad weather on what was supposed to be an easy run. A fail on both counts as got rained on & ended up doing a tempo run as I tried to chase down the bloke running ahead of me. Didn’t catch him but it was motivation to run faster #running #runchat

I love reading the parkrun reports from around the world as they are posted through the day! Highest turnout this year (887) at the 6 NE Wales parkruns - 17% higher than last year - supported by 125 volunteers. I was one of them and did the first timers’ brief and timekeeping #running #parkrun

A 9.5 mile run on an undulating course (aka hilly - there are no flat routes here) which incorporated holloways - stretches of old, sunken road. They are inherently spooky and wonderful #running #runchat

Easy run today. Included a couple of off-road sections which, given the mud and my road shoes, may have been a mistake. Enjoyed the views though. #running #trailrunning

Was hoping for some sun on my 4 mile tempo run but I’ll take the interesting cloud I got instead #running #runchat

Five miles off-road in the Clwydian Hills (one of my favourite places to run). Not exaggerating to say we haven’t see the sun in many days #running #trailrun

Runners & walkers numbering 675 turned out for the 6 NE Wales parkruns (an 8% drop on last week but similar to this time last year) with 122 volunteers giving their time. I ran this week and had a go at delivering the first timers’ briefing then added a few more trail miles after #parkrun #running

Active rest so cycling to work with the setting moon #running #cycling

A 3-lap challenge tonight with each lap successively faster than the previous one. The enormous hill in the middle didn’t help but the sights along the way did - stopped to take a photo of St Cynfarch’s church after I finished. #running #runchat

Llangollen Round Recce #3 - 11 mile practice from Carrog back to Llangollen. The usual spectacular views from the tops completely obscured by heavy mist all day, but passed this fine section of wall on the way down #running #walking

Cold and grey conditions may have contributed to the lower turnout today in NE Wales parkruns - 130 fewer walkers/runners than last week but volunteer numbers were higher at 127. I did my first run briefing (don’t think anyone went the wrong way!) #running #parkrun
