Just finished Riley Sager's MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT (2024), in which a man returns to his childhood home to discover the truth of his best friends' abduction decades earlier. What could be cliche becomes utterly compelling with some genuinely surprising twists and unsettling set pieces. Hauntingly good.
