Looking back, it was over for Kakko after two successful stints where he, Zibanejad, and Kreider put up a 70% goals for rate at 5v5 and both times the team demoted him. Instead of accepting a 1L that could shut down anyone and focusing on depth scoring, they couldn’t get over his draft position.
