I've taken up "texting" and "ticketing" by voice and video. It's satisfying to use my voice, stumbling however, but I feel human and heard. It's real; we're real people. I spoke with someone from Germany, in her pyjamas (screencast only), and enjoyed every minute. What a lovely person she was.

Don't get me wrong, I hold dear my 49th parallel neighbours and they've been good to me. My American coworkers are some of the best people that I've met. But I love my Canada and our culture, peoples, etc. We are a sovereign state, our border is real, and we are not a 51st state. Simple as that.
