Sports fan pro tip: you can be a fan of a team (laundry) and be a fan of specific players. They are not mutually exclusive. It is very freeing.

@rosterresource.fangraphs.com just noticed that Juan Brito doesn’t currently make the projected 26 man roster. He gets 2B regularly, Arias moves to the bench, and Freeman - with the option remaining - heads to AAA. Outside his high-BABIP AAA 24’, Arias hasn’t looked starter quality.

Noticed Shelton started at 3B for Mariners. He and Bliss are the “dark horses” I expect to make Mariners Opening Day roster over Rivas and Canzone.

Isn’t Mavs trading Luka more akin to Padres trading Soto? It was the Supermax contract they were avoiding.

Reacquiring Polanco after seemingly letting him walk is the Mariners’ version of the double slit experiment. Most hitters they acquire are good, but when observed as Mariners are bad. This is all just to trick the universe into thinking Polanco isn’t a Mariner, and is therefore a good hitter.

Are we sure Rosenthal didn’t accidentally read last year’s news RE Mariners & Polanco?

Wait. The Mariners acquired Jorge Polanco on January 30, 2024 AND the Mariners acquired Jorge Polanco on January 30, 2025.

I’m not convinced a team’s ballpark run environment matters all that much to overall success. If anything, it relates to attracting certain types of free agents. The Seattle Mariners were 49-32 at home last year. 36-45 on the road.

We are still a few days away from the anniversary of Mariners trading for Polanco. And let’s not forget, Alonso and Bregman remain dominos to fall in FA. Last year, Bellinger didn’t sign until late February, Snell and Montgomery were later, in March.

Would Cardinals move Arenado for Garver and Haniger from Mariners? No money changes hands. Garver and Haniger are free agents next year, so money savings for Cards are mainly next 2 years. Ms call up Ford to pair with Cal at C.

Good thing the Mariners starting rotation can neutralize another team's starting rotation. wait.

Has anyone been able to find a complete timeline of human cases of H5N1 bird flu infections in the US? The CDC currently counts 67 on its site, but I cannot find specific counts & dates that reach this total. I am missing at least 6. Closest I've come is this: www.paho.org/en/timeline-...

Ok, hear me out: if Mets did offer Alonso $68-$70 over 3 years but he declined, let’s revisit this: Red Sox get Luis Castillo Mariners get Tristan Casas Instead of Mariners taking on Yoshida’s $$, the Mets get Mataska Yoshida + some minor piece. Then the Mariners can go and sign Bregman. /s
