My favorite albums of the year so far... The Mallett Brothers Band 'Higher Up the Hills' Galactic/Irma Thomas 'Audience With the Queen' Charley Crockett 'Lonesome Drifter' Tunde Adebimpe 'Thee Black Boltz' Honorable Mention: My Morning Jacket 'is'

They're coming for public radio, kids. We have our streamers, but there's the local stations we love & helps us find music we normally wouldn't have. And now the WH is trying to rescind its funding. This would be devastating. The vote is the week of May 5th, so there's still time to call your reps.

I kind of think that my sequencing of 'Everything Must Go' by Goose makes it a better record. I trimmed the fat and did some rearranging. I can't do anything about the overproduction, but I think this version is a better listen than the original. open.spotify.com/playlist/0c0...

New BADBADNOTGOOD track is wild, a 7min trip hop, acid jazz, R&B odyssey. Dudes started out as hip hop wiz kids (check out their work w/ Tyler the Creator) & it's been amazing to see how they've grown. They had one of my favorite songs of 2024 w/ "Take What's Given.' open.spotify.com/track/09Btko...

Page/Kramer: I'm telling you, it was a turtle...IN THE CLOUDS. Fish/Elaine: That wasn't a turtle you jackass. Page/Kramer: Oh it was a turtle. Jerry, you believe me, right? Trey/Jerry (laughs): I just can't believe you said that part out loud.

AND WE'RE GONNA TEACH CHILDREN TO BE NICE, SPECIFICALLY TO ME BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T WHEN I WAS A KID. THEY CALLED ME NAMES. MEAN ONES. WELL LOOK AT ME NOW MS. JOHNSON'S THIRD GRADE CLASS. I'M THREE YEARS AWAY FROM EITHER IMMORTALITY OR FLEEING TO SOUTH AMERICA IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!

I love when @stevenhyden.bsky.social does gigantic rankings of things I thought only I cared about. I also still love CDs. One of the few constants in my life is the book of CDs I’ve kept in my car for the past 20 years. It’s like car shades, good to have in an emergency.

Okay, some more new Turnstile. Not sure about "Seein' Stars," but "Birds" is more like it. youtu.be/a95G2GzB3t0

She's so good at this

Started S2 of Andor yesterday, and you know, say what you will about the Empire, but they don't mess around when it comes to Storm Trooper response time. Rebels are up to some monkey business, and within seconds, Storm Troopers are coming in hot. It's impressive.

This song could go on for 20 minutes and I'd be perfectly cool with it. The driving groove is incredible.

Thinking about how ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ ends this weekend and well, it’s a damn shame.

Me explaining being a dad to people who don’t have kids

I think Benny & George are talking about me. I keep asking if they are. They say no, but then snicker, give each other this look that makes me think they’re totally talking about me. They say they’re talking about ‘The Last of Us,’ but come on. They both only watch cooking shows & NBA playoffs.

Catching up on Phish Spring Tour shows and I don't care if this shows my age or not, but whenever I hear "My Soul"...

If I were famous, I would definitely use this name when checking into hotels. Actually, I might start doing it anyway. It’s too good to not use. #PopeWatch2025

Still thinking about Catherine O'Hara's drinking beers & lounging in the outfield, watching a Little League game in last night's 'The Last of Us', and how I finally found a way to survive an apocalypse that seems both doable and enjoyable. Twofer.

Soundgarden was the merciless monster truck of the Seattle scene, what we listened to after Nirvana & Pearl Jam when we felt we could handle the heavy stuff. Happy that they made into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

Sharing this again in light of Phish not getting inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame because honestly, does it matter? giddyupamerica.com/2023/02/01/p...

Happy birthday to Jim James of My Morning Jacket. The Kentucky alt-country shaman, barnyard soul troubadour, space traveling poet laureate & mighty, ethereal cosmic rock god was born OTD in 1978.

Nice to see Marc Maron carved out some time in what little time he has left (according to him) to finally see Phish.

I love that @fishboneband.bsky.social is still out here doing their thing, speaking truth to power in a way only they can. And this time with George effin’ Clinton! Bonus! youtu.be/OxfTe-VPSRw?...

When we’re a fan of a band/musician, we’re a fan of their decisions, whether it’s deciding how a song should go & be structured, sound choices, touring, who to work with, etc. Goose’s decision making continues to be confounding. Not saying all their decisions are good or bad, just a bit confusing.

Golf course jokes 🤝 dad jokes

I could imagine Ben Franklin bringing up the subject but then John Adams went on a 40 minute monologue about our better angels, greater good & confronting evil and everyone just decided to move on because it was super hot.

This profile of Tunde from TV On The Radio by Eric Ducker on @theringer.com.web.brid.gy is fantastic and definitely worth a read.
