"Rosita Tells a 'Yer Mom' Joke" Nikon N65, Ilford HP5 Plus #believeinfilm #dogsofbluesky

Apparently the Imperial government in Star Wars navigates using a modified Polaroid SX-70? Good to know. #starwars #filmphotography #believeinfilm #cameras #andor

6 month, long exposure pinhole camera Solargram. Paper wet - part was beginning to disintegrate from water intrusion. Had snow & wind storms & lots of rain May/June 2025. Pinhole is tiny - I was surprised paper was so wet. Very pleased with result - even more pleased I got the angle right.

The other day I went around my neighborhood with a 1966 Minolta Hi-Matic 7s and a roll of Kodacolor 400 that expired in 2003 and captured some lovely retro imagery. Here are a few. Hugo MN, 2025. #believeinfilm

Self-portrait. Seattle, 1999. 35mm. #believeinfilm

I got two more for ya, @drmint.bsky.social, just to prove that you haven't changed a bit. ;)

Scanning some old 35mm negatives and came across this gem of @drmint.bsky.social at age 5. You're welcome, dude.

Don't worry, be Cappy. #rescuedogs #dogsofbluesky #smile

Length of time in which AI seemed interesting: 1-2 months in 2022 Length of time in which AI will be the bane of human existence that destroys everything good in the world, starting with the internet: The rest of time even after humans are extinct and bots are all that's left Smart.

I really love this pic... #rescuedogs #dogsofbluesky #petphotography

Devastated. pitchfork.com/news/the-bea...

When see people posting AI generated “art”, I have to wonder why they are bothering? Anybody could’ve made it, it doesn’t reflect the person or their life or their creative work. It just proves they can ask a computer to make them something. What is the point?

Posting political opinions online is like screaming into a pillow. Fascists want us to vent our feelings into the digital void rather than do anything IRL. What matters? Data we share, where we spend our $$, voting, real life events. My advice: whatever the algorithm wants, do the opposite.

I'll take my classic iPod over anything ever created by OpenAI.

Oh life...

Tired: MAGA, Meta, smartphones, "AI", Tesla Wired: laying in the grass, watching birds in the sky, feeling the mass of the planet pressed up against your back, as the sun warms your skin

Never, ever ever, for any reason, EVER, trust an LLM. "AI" is not intelligent. It does not know the difference between fantasy and reality. Using an LLM makes you dumber. Do you want to be dumber? Why? arstechnica.com/ai/2025/05/c...

A pileated woodpecker went crazy on one of our trees. I thought, oh my, that tree might fall if there is strong wind. Yep. It did. In two directions. Into two adjacent trees. This will be expensive.

Now that LLMs are creating an entire generation of functionally illiterate adults, somebody is going to get a great deal on my book collection at my estate sale when I die. I really hope they don’t use the books for burning / toilet paper / etc… but then again, I am a notorious optimist.

I sincerely hate pop-ups that ask me to rate apps. When the pop-up does not allow me to close without answering, I always rate the app negatively, even if I like it, because that's soooooooo annoying. I'm not here for your NPS score. #hostileuxdesign

Aw man... Lift Bridge is discontinuing Farm Girl saison? That's my favorite beer. Damn it...

the reason why these people believe in “the woke mind virus” and think of others as “NPCs” is because they have literally fried their brains in private group chats with people who share the same half dozen opinions

Something about Rosita reminds me of a gopher or marmot or something... Such a lovely little goofball.

I want to be more like my dogs when I grow up.

Yesterday I learned that I could change my #bluesky handle to my verified personal domain name. Nice!

HAPPY 4/20!

Nuclear Gopher forever. :)

Yesterday was NG tattoo day with Scott, Chad, and Mitchell, followed by a drag show at the American Atheists Convention and then I hung out with James and a dog named Gus and some of his friends. Not too shabby.

Me during last night's @mogwai.scot show. Soooo good!

He stood for truth. Trump’s now coming after him. What side of this moment will you be on? I stand with Chris Krebs.

in which chatgpt tells me about it's undocumented hardcoded boundaries and some of the ways it's trained to be intentionally deceptive. (i got here by proving that it had done facial recognition for me in the past, after it denied doing so for a while. once it "remembered," it stopped obfuscating.)

My favorite pic from last night’s dogs in the bog photo sesh was a little dark so I boosted the exposure a touch in the RAW processing. Much better. pixelfed.social/p/ryansutter... #dogsofbluesky #rescuedogs #nikondf

Last night, dogs in the bog. :) pixelfed.social/p/ryansutter... #rescuedogs #photography #dogsofbluesky

One More Reason Why Bluesky is the Best www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

This just in, obsolete #legacysocialmedia app #facebook has (re)introduced a Friends feed that just shows content from the people on your Friends list instead of the algorithm from hell. It seems that #opensocialmedia like #bluesky has them a bit scared. #toolate #meta

Sadly, only a couple of good shots on my first roll shot with the Argus C-44, but this one of Cappy is one of the better ones. Kodak 400, developed in Cinestill C-41, Plustek OpticFilm 7200 scanner #dogsofbluesky #rescuedogs #35mm #filmphotography #analogphotography

I still have email notifications turned on about updates from #legacysocialmedia (i.e. - #facebook, #meta, #twitter, #instagram, obsolete crap like that) while we are all slowly transitioning to something good. When I have to reply or check in to any of them I feel sick to my stomach and sad. #gross
