Donald Trump firing ~7000 IRS workers will mean three things: 1) More tax loopholes for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations 2) More debt, since IRS agents collect a lot more than they cost 3) Fewer ways to go after big tax cheats A great day to be a billionaire in America.

Winston Churchill was right: "Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those other forms that have been tried.” Too many Americans have fought and died defending democracy. We must stand with our European allies against the authoritarianism of Putin and Trump.

President Trump is bringing chaos to one economic sector after another. More disruption is sure to come. While we can’t predict what’s going to happen, we know for sure that the risk of a fiscal crisis is higher than it was just four weeks ago.

Guns are the number one killer of kids in this country. But right now, in many states, a teenager can buy an assault-style weapon. I'm a cosponsor of the Age 21 Act to prohibit the sale or possession of assault-style weapons to those under 21. It's just common sense.

While Trump appoints 13 billionaires to his cabinet and Musk, Bezos and Zuckerberg see their wealth increase by $217 billion since the election, 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, 25% of seniors live on $15g or less and millions cannot afford rent. SAY NO TO OLIGARCHY.

77% of the American people want to cap credit card interest rates. It is about time that we listened to them. Congress must provide financial relief to working families struggling to pay for the high price of groceries, rent, gasoline, and prescription drugs.
