well done, @chriswarcraft.bsky.social

Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia has published a letter sent to him by Trump’s Department of Justice threatening to potentially prosecute him for criticizing Elon Musk.

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

couldn’t have said it better myself

BRAVO to Maine Governor Janet Mills for slapping petty tyrant trump in the face with her calmly defiant "see you in court." THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE. 🔥🔥🔥

Holy crap. At his town hall last night, Rep. Rich McCormick compared *his own constituents* who asked him tough and fair questions to January 6 insurrectionists

Teachers teach. We need a leaderful movement, and there are leaders all around us.

This will especially hurt rural folks

Yes. “People are doing things. You will meet them when YOU start doing things.” Lots of information and resources in this one. open.substack.com/pub/sherrily...

You are not powerless, and he is not unstoppable. Look at, and learn from, the funding freeze and how quickly he was forced to surrender.

NEWS: Sources tell me that DOGE is setting its sights on the Department of Labor next. DOL workers have been ordered to give DOGE access to whatever they ask for—or risk termination. “We’re supposed to stop everything we’re doing and do whatever the DOGE kids ask… It feels dirty and illegal.”

Ayanna Pressley: "Elon Musk is a Nazi nepo baby."

BREAKING: FBI agents who worked on cases stemming from the Jan. 6 attack — or the Trump criminal investigations — have filed a class action lawsuit to block DOJ leadership from assembling lists of agents they say will be used as part of a retaliation campaign. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

This is a great idea. Do you know anyone in Congress you can talk to?

An unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government. DOGE is not a real government agency. DOGE has no authority to make spending decisions. DOGE has no authority to shut programs down or to ignore federal law. DOGE’s conduct cannot be allowed to stand.

Summary of Today in Tariffs: Trump sets house on fire, then congratulates self after putting it out.

Murphy: "That's just fancy talk to say, 'we're gonna give money to people who pledge loyalty to Trump, and we're not gonna give money to people who don't pledge loyalty.' Today it may be government contracts, but tomorrow it may be your tax refund."

I'm sorry, but "they took over the whole federal payments system, fired the career staff, and won't let anybody see what they're doing" is not a situation in which you wait for more information. It's a situation in which you assume the worst. There's no explanation for it other than rampant crimes.

Members of Congress going into the US Agency for International Development!

pushback works, part infinity +1 www.nytimes.com/2025/02/03/h...

Lots of members who were in town in both chambers showing up to USAID to join locals @beyer.house.gov Connolly, Raskin, and Van Hollen, a couple dozen here now. They will attempt entry

Members of Congress with @beyer.house.gov @vanhollen.senate.gov now seeking entry at USAID

Idgaf I’m still fighting for guaranteed healthcare. Aspiration is the answer. Not just “we’re not the bad guys.” We need something more meaningful than that. I want a future worth fighting for. They have no vision. We do. Lean into our strengths and knock them out. 👊🏽

Raskin: "Elon Musk, you may have illegally seized power over the financial payments systems of the Treasury, but you don't control the money of the American people. The US Congress does that under Article 1 of the Constitution ... we don't have a fourth branch of government called 'Elon Musk'"

This is being broadcast on YouTube here:

Senator Andy Kim just went to the USAID building, talked to the security guard there to confirm employees are being barred entry, and then did a press gaggle right there in front to call it out. This is doing something. This is making an effort on messaging. Other Democratic lawmakers: take notes.

Any Dem congressperson could round up a few friendly and alarmed FBI agents right now and go arrest Musk’s gang of children. “Just fucking do it and see what happens” is a stronger move for the side that is upholding the law.

As soon as my kid starts school, I’m free to join the revolution everyday until 3pm 🤘🏼

The men carrying out Musk's coup are Akash Bobba, Edward Coristine, Luke Farritor, Gautier Cole Killian, Gavin Kliger, and Ethan Shaotran. Make them famous. And, eventually, when possible, arrest them and charge them with multiple felonies. www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

If the Democrats take the stupid “now people will feel the effects of the tariffs so we don’t need to say anything” approach they will fail and absolutely deserve to fail

You're not overwhelmed. You're under attack.

Among the questions I'd never imagined asking, I can now add: "How best can I help Canada and Mexico in the trade war?"

I don't know whether to laugh or cry, or scream... or all of the above.

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

RONALD REAGAN (1988): We should be aware of the demagogues who are ready to declare a trade war against our friends, weakening our economy, our national security, and the entire free world—all while cynically waving the American flag.

Protesters to fascists shut down the 101 freeway in Los Angeles. Not being reported anywhere because our media is owned by like 5 billionaires who are all in Trump's pocket
