RIP Michelle Trachtenberg, dead at 39 from apparent liver transplant complications. This one hits hard. Younger than me, super out-of-the-blue. Tragic. The very first episode of Buffy I ever saw was S05E02, the first one featuring her in the opening credits. www.yahoo.com/news/buffy-g...

"Hey guys, what if Severance was REAL?"

I do not need to "save time" or "see more features and enhancements over time" or "Learn more." What I need is a "Please disable Gemini and stop asking me about it forever" button.

I know everybody is all about Astro Bot and Metaphor: ReFantazio and Elden Ring DLC right now. But you're probably sleeping on Vengeance Hunters, one of the low-key coolest arcade beat-'em-ups since Streets of Rage 4.

When I'm not on Bluesky being cool, I'm over here correctly guessing the final Jeopardy clue cold, from just the "Presidential Candidates" category title. I take your online test every year Jeopardy, when are we gonna talk??

An observation, in the midst of setting up a new PC and also refitting the older PC as an upgrade for my wife's computer: All programs should have an "export settings" option, so that you can just import preferences from a file, instead of playing Where's Waldo with settings screens across two PCs.

Blue Revolver is one of the best and most newbie-accessible arcade shoot-'em-up games there is, if you're curious about this genre and want something good to try.

Well, it looks like Jake Paul made it through the first 1 minute and 30 seconds of round 1, so he might have a shot.

Man, so, for real: I've gotten super-used to just not having Twitter-y social media in my life, after I walked away from Elon Musk's garbage pit. So now I have to actively remind myself it's here, since I don't just sit on it all day. I hope I didn't forget how to use this thing.

How do I open this PDF?

One of the best things I saw at GDC this week was this awesome tribute to Jennell Jaquays, who designed (among other things) some of the best old-school TTRPG dungeons. "Jaquaysian dungeon design" is a thing that's still talked about today.

OSCARS FOR VIDEO GAMES, BABYYYYYYYY!

Me, unironically, today.

Sounds like Substack's never heard the Paradox of Tolerance. What a bunch of idiots. I recall the old story where a bartender kicks the nazi out of his bar immediately. If you let one in cuz he's not causing problems, he starts bringing friends, and then suddenly you're a nazi bar.

Sad to hear of the passing of comics legend Keith Giffen, who had a hand in creating some of the funniest and weirdest versions of some of my favorite superhero properties, including Justice League, Suicide Squad, and Blue Beetle. There's never been another comic creator quite like him. RIP.

I'm on some rando mailing list for a site called Hometalk, and they constantly send emails with subject lines like "Pour vinegar in your bedroom" and "Hang PVC pipes on your porch" and "Rub a bar of soap on your door." What are we trying to do here, ward off the Blair Witch?

Sad to hear of the death of Arleen Sorkin, the original voice of Harley Quinn (who first appeared in Batman: The Animated Series, and is now one of DC's most recognizable and bankable characters). Everyone else: If you aren't doing an Arleen Sorkin impression, you're voicing Harley Quinn wrong.

I mean, CBR was already a clickbait-focused content mill before this, and these people should be deeply ashamed and embarrassed that most of their work is basically indistinguishable from AI, going back years. But, you know, good to take a stand, I guess?

nice

Elon Musk and Linda Yaccarino are like straight-off-the-assembly-line megacorp CEO supervillains from a Shadowrun campaign. Man, cyberpunk was a lot more fun when it was a speculative fiction genre, and not real life.

Since obviously you're all here for the tennis hot takes -- why else would you be here? -- Marketa Vondrousova is totally gonna win Wimbledon on Saturday.

Well, which born-rich idiot with main character syndrome will buy this one, I wonder?
