But... but... they said state schools would be overwhelmed by pupils from private schools whose parents were rich enough to pay fees but not quite rich enough to pay VAT.

Happy Commonwealth Day! Previously known as Empire Day to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday, it became Commonwealth Day in 1958. It has been celebrated on the second Monday of March since 1977. There are 56 nations in the Commonwealth of Nations.
