Today's Gardening Advice: Fothergilla gardenii is an excellent U.S. native shrub. Known as Dwarf Fothergilla, it reaches about 5' high and wide. Can produce sucker growth. Flowers early and has fantastic fall foliage. Prefers full sun and is not fond of hot/dry locations. 🌱

Strange to see Facebook memories of places I've eaten, only to discover that there's no location listed. Not sure where I was or what happened to the restaurant. Today, it was a former Pizza Hut building, that was far fancier than Pizza Hut. Was I in VT? MA? Not sure.

Garden Center News: Sadly, tariffs will impact your local garden center. Why? 1. Pottery, statuary, granite blocks, and metal work generally come from China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Mexico. Basically, not U.S. made. 2. Plastic pots and fertilizers may be manufactured overseas. 🌱

Love watching people bake goodies on YouTube. They reach the point of adding vanilla and say, "Now a teaspoon of vanilla" and just glug so much vanilla into the bowl. Measure vanilla with hopes and dreams as opposed to teaspoons.

Today's Gardening Advice: Coral Bark Maple, is a fantastic choice for winter color. Stems and branches turn a rich coral color. Sadly, they're impacted by a bacterial blight which shows as blackened splotches. It's possible to cut impacted growth. However, this isn't a cure, and plant may succumb. 🌱
