Whoever described generative AI as the aesthetic of fascism made a sharp point.

Donald Trump says Canada has no right to exist. I take the threat seriously. With our sovereignty on the table I support a national discussion on next steps. But CBC thinks it would be fun to have an American DJ co-host whether we should exist as a nation. Fuck that @ianhanomansing.bsky.social

No. Stop it #CBC. They’re not “comments,” they are THREATS destroy our sovereignty, our independence, our economy, and our way of life as Canadians. Stop normalizing Trump’s threats to annex Canada. You are doing his job for him! #Canada #CanadaSky 🇨🇦 #cdnpoli #TeamCanada #Alberta #yyc #yeg

Exactly. Normalizing this is enraging.

These are not your dad's conservatives. They are MAGA reformers.

This. 1000x this.

Tootsie’s glad we can take the flag back from those convoy ne’r-do-wells.

Don’t get to see a Dali every day.

This is an explicit threat to Canadian sovereignty. Wonder when he moves from tariffs to blockade

Not that there was ever any doubt, but Ezra Levant and friends are showing their true colours. Hope Canadians are clocking jersey numbers this weekend. 🇨🇦

These are the same picture.

If someone chooses to live in a smaller home in the inner city in part to avoid a long commute, they generally don’t pressure society to build them a bigger house with more stuff. So if you choose a bigger stuff-filled house in the suburbs, don’t expect society to build you a fast car commute.

How the Canadian government should treat Elon's businesses:

@mrjamesob.bsky.social On the off chance that you see this, you may want to check out this video by Dan Olson - it's very much in layman's terms, and really helped me get a grip on crypto. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ_x...

You can say that again

This guy was living in a $27,500 a month apartment in the same building as Taylor Swift, and he now lives on Central Park, and is out on the street complaining about congestion pricing.

The only people in Canada who think they are having other people's culture 'forced' on them just by coming here are conservative Pierre Poilievre aficionados, crackpots and bigots. They hate immigrants that aren't TFWs they can't make work for dirt cheap to purposely drive down wages for everyone.

Close @nytimes.com . It turned out to be a "nonevent" *because* it was taken seriously and dealt with.

Donald Trump is mentally deranged and morally defective. Kevin O’Leary can eat shit like the traitor he is.

Emily here, one of Pierre Poilievre's best pals, is also one of those Conservative Christian Taliban goons. She's personally asked Jesus to help Cons take over government so they can cut child, health, dental and pharma care to instead fund Canadian Christian Taliban Bible Studies in public schools.

Close, @npr.org . It should read "...didn't live up the hype *because* years and billions of dollars were spent...".

So this is the “ordinary Canadian” that right wing influencers claim illustrate how fed up Canadians are with Canada’s Prime Minister. Ordinary for right wing extremists, perhaps. They are trying here what they did in the United States.

Rich assholes and bigots who can’t see past their hate voted for Donald Trump and the Republicans in droves. The same fate awaits us in Canada with the Conservatives under Pierre Poilievre if we don’t unite against them and exercise the right to vote.

These guys make Chamberlain seem tough.

This is SO concerning. Poilievre is not acting as official opposition but as anti-government, against the very system of our government.

Hmm seems like no angel

Not enough bassoon in rock music these days... www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_9P...

I dream that one day our passenger trains will be as fast as our entry level base model personal cars that children aged 16 can drive.

Krypto the super dog! youtu.be/uhUht6vAsMY?...

A thing I did not think about until I had it explained to me: it is *incredibly cruel* to make someone go through puberty as the wrong gender. If they’re sure enough that they’re trans to want gender-affirming care before that happens, it’s just monstrous to keep it from them.

Perfection.

They are so fucked.

Labour health secretary Wes Streeting has permanently banned puberty blockers for trans children. There is no evidence they cause harm, which is why they are still available for cis children.

Oversized vehicles bother me, for various reasons. Interesting video about why people may be drawn to them... youtu.be/6q_BE5KPp18

An oldie but a goodie.

I get that as an American, Trump has eliminated our ability to claim superiority over anyone, but Starmer gets the UK has actual problems, right? Ivan’s at the gate and their closest ally has gone insane at the same time Britain is divorcing from Europe. Shouldn’t he be too busy to fight trans folk?

"Are there no workhouses?" says an actual nonfictional person, two weeks before Christmas, completely unironically.

I’m trying to imagine the bubble of amoral corporate douchery you have to live in to think that saying “we guard against unnecessary care” is better than just shutting the fuck up.

Privileged people generally experience the system as biased against and as singling them out for abuse, because they cannot imagine that’s just how the system treats people.

They say videogames desensitize you to violence but I think this kind of shit does it much more effectively

GI Robot really knows how to speak to a girl. <3

After yesterdays experience I won’t blame anyone under 30 making noise about leaving #winnipeg I swore I’d never give up on this city but as I make plans toward retiring, I’m starting to think hitting my head against a wall repeatedly for basic stuff isn’t how I wanna live out my final 2 decades

Do Canadians know what the consequences of voting for the Conservative Party of Canada would be? Say goodbye to affordable healthcare and pensions at age 65. Do you want tax breaks for billionaires, a.k.a. corporate welfare bums? I could go on and on.
