Today I retire from Wizards of the Coast after 28 years. With D&D’s 50th anniversary wrapping up and the revised rulebooks doing gangbusters, this is the perfect fairytale ending for me. I can’t wait to enjoy D&D purely as a fan again, knowing the game is in good hands. See you in the Feywild!

Alright. I appreciate that you all have not fired me from my self appointed position as the TSR/D&D tour director on gross negligence grounds. So I am back and ready to resume! Up today from 1981 is the iconic module, L1: The Secret of Bone Hill. Here are my 1st print in original shrink copies.

Dear @sageadvicednd.bsky.social , A TON of folks on @dndbeyond.bsky.social and Reddit seem to think TWF + Dual Wielder + the Nick Mastery property allow them to have 3 attacks (main hand using the attack action, off hand using TWF, and another from Nick). These do not stack IMO. Can you help us?

Man. So many incredible D&D modules were released in 1981. We have another one for today's stop in our tour of each and every D&D/TSR release. Enjoy some quality time with I1: Dwellers of the Forbidden City! Here are my 1st and 2nd printings in original shrink wrap.

FRPG GM Tip: Nothing in any game functions in isolation. In any encounter — combat or otherwise — stay open to what the characters’ actions in that encounter might lead to next. For every villain or NPC, think about what else they might do in addition to their primary narrative goal.

We roll on with our D&D/TSR release tour, currently in the year 1980. Up today is an incredibly important setting release, the first since OD&D was published a few years before: The World of Greyhawk folio. Here is my 5th printing in original shrink and my 2nd print copy.

The team has put a tremendous amount of effort into this set to make introducing D&D to new players easier and more exciting than ever. This is the Starter Set we all wish we had when we rolled our first d20s. ❤️ #WOTCstaff #dnd

I had the pleasure of interviewing Jeremy Crawford at Lucca Comics&Games24. We discuss the evolution of #DnD over the past 10 years and the upcoming releases. Questions are in Italian but Jeremy's answers are in English 🤓 #darksun #sageadvice #bg3 youtu.be/z5UegH62TdY?...

FRPG Player Tip: Arguments and disagreements can make for great roleplaying. But unless you know your group well and have established suitable boundaries, don’t look to create real conflict between characters. An adventuring party is about strength in numbers, and conflict eats away that strength.

To design games, your brain must work a bit differently. To create worlds, your brain must work a bit differently. To create stories and adventures, your brain must work a bit differently. You can only be so different. Get help in your #ttrpg creations when needed. Have a great gaming weekend!

PC owners, Sigil the D&D VTT, is out! You can download it here: www.dndbeyond.com/sigil And if you're like me and have a Mac, you can console yourself with this demo video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yWX... #dnd

FRPG Player Tip: A good backstory is more about asking questions than making statements. Statements can only tell you where your character has been. Questions covering the things your character wants to know or is looking for will set up where you’re going, and that’s what the game is about.

RPG tip from the archive: Instead of spending a lot of time building a custom monster, reskin an existing one. #dnd #ttrpg

Are you telling me that this place could be a safe space to talk about D&D with my American friends?

One of my all-time favorite projects to work on was Mines of Madness (2013), a 5E-compatible D&D adventure that Scott Kurtz and I created for sh*ts and giggles. Scott came up with the plot and the illustrations; I did the writing and the maps. It’s now roaming free on the internet. #50YearsOfDnD
