This is what happens when DOGE fires air traffic controllers.

First Trump wrecks the economy, and now he wants to take even more money out of people's pockets. The cruelty is the point. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Do you want to to (1) actively resist fascism, (2) signal your resistance to fascism, (3) show solidarity with people being targeted by fascism? Wear a mask. A mask shows your willingness to not comply, your opposition to the eugenics agenda, and you're making spaces safer for vulnerable folks.

Single-family housing on narrow lots, sometimes called “detached townhouses,” can solve many problems for small-lot, economical, and efficient housing.

the president’s policies will carpet bomb the economy and ruin millions of lives but don’t worry, he and his failchildren will come away from everything as rich as ever

NEW: Gavin Kliger, one of Elon Musk’s young DOGE delinquents who helped the Trump regime carry out mass firings at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), owns stock in companies that could benefit from the agency’s dismantling. Not only does this constitute a conflict of interest,…

The fact that NWS field offices are not able to operate 24/7 anymore in growing number of locations, & that offices servicing major population centers no longer have supervisory meteorologists in charge, & that radar techs are becoming unavailable, is highly alarming.

Since you breathe air, making sure you saw that 52 Republican Senators voted yesterday to put more toxic chemicals in it. The first time congress has voted to weaken the Clean Air Act in its 55 year history. OTOH, it's good news for all the people who don't breath air. You know: Corporations.

"The latest clue comes from those known lefty rabble-rousers at the, uh, University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School." Even reporters are now make this joke because cutting fossil fuel pollution is so obviously just common f*ckin' sense.

THE RISE OF END TIMES FASCISM My first major piece of the new Trump era, co-written with @astra.bsky.social. The governing ideology of the far right has become a monstrous, supremacist survivalism. Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them. www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

What unites the broad coalition of working-class Americans, tech billionaires and more in the MAGA movement? @naomiaklein.bsky.social says the answer is “apocalyptic fever.”

Since Alcatraz is in the news, did you know that in 1969 a group of indigenous protesters occupied and reclaimed the island for 18 months, becoming one of the most important moments for the American Indian Movement and contemporary Native American History?

A. Now they’re just straight up admitting the goal is eliminating the separation of church and state. No more pretending this is about poor kids or choices. B. They believe the Constitution isn’t worth the paper it was written on.

The White House account posted this photo today. I fixed it for them.

“After Donald Trump won in November, I sat down to read all 922 pages of Project 2025,” @dgraham.bsky.social writes in The Atlantic Daily. “What I discovered was more radical and more interesting than I’d expected.”

Earlier this week: heat wave in Paris. Today: hail storm. Maybe our planet is trying to tell us something?

Where did everyone go? Don't we pay for them to attend meetings and vote on things that might be pertinent to their constituents? #USDemocracy

Hell yeah! Put this on loop—this wise man speaks for me. 🔥

I tried to ensure that not a single taxpayer dollar would be spent by Trump’s ICE to detain or deport U.S. citizens. Republicans blocked my proposal — abandoning their own constituents. newrepublic.com/post/194664/...

I’m listening to Chris. You should listen too. He is absolutely correct. They’re definitely not going to listen to an Asian woman. You have your assignment. Thank you for your sacrifice.

When the media runs stories on RFK Jr, they should use *this* photo of him, every single time.

clarithromycin is an antibiotic. Antibiotics kill bacteria. Measles is a virus. While it might be useful for secondary infections it won't treat measles. Also, why are they insisting we get sick when there's an effective vaccine from stopping us from getting sick.

Cruelty is the point. 😖 What have we become? Seriously, I’m embarrassed to be from the United States. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Also, I’m not an “AI is a fraud!” guy, it’s genuinely kinda miraculous. But it’s funny how our tech overlords, rather than trying to figure out what it would be good for, instead seem to start by saying “What is the most dystopian possible use of this tech?” and then immediately try to implement it.

This is interesting — a recent study of mode share (the % share of transportation trips by car, transit, walking, biking etc) relative to city size and income levels in almost 800 cities in 61 countries. Interesting results. HT @davidzipper.bsky.social www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Terrific piece in the New York Times. I highly recommend reading @mariahblake.bsky.social's new book "They Poisoned the World: Life and Death in the Age of Forever Chemicals" which covers some of the same material in more depth and detail.

1. Next school year, thousands of high school students in Oklahoma will be required to learn about Trump's debunked claims that the 2020 election was tainted by fraud. The lesson will not be part of a course on conspiracy theories, but an official component of the new social studies curriculum.

In an age overflowing with information, could rethinking our relationships and incentive structures offer a clearer path forward? How could a shift in social and cultural values play the most critical part in transforming our human system to be aligned with the rest of the biosphere?
