Noticed a bunch of these ornate gold medallions slapped all over the Oval Office. We found em on Alibaba. “High-density Home Decoration Polyurethane Appliques Ornament PU Foam Veneer Accessories” from seller Guangzhou Homemax Decorative Material Limited. sherwood.news/power/shop-t...

Finding in favour of @stevebraysodem.bsky.social, judge said: “He is virtually accused of being ‘fixated’ – he’s entitled to be. How he chooses to express those views is for him. Lampooning the gov't through satire is a long tradition in this country.” 👏 ~AA www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

I hate to be that guy, but this is the five-alarm fire, and every elected Democrat and frankly, every Washington reporter should be ringing the bell. If it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone. Nobody with a voice should give this administration a moment’s peace about it.

I had a joke about Persephone but I didn’t want to spring it on you.

I saw headlines about Trump's education secretary making this mistake, and I just assumed she was reading, because I have mistaken that word myself while reading. But she was not reading. Jesus Christ, she was not reading.

We need to be better allies to grieving people and there’s much practical guidance contained in this lush piece of writing. Go well, Tracy 🌱

NEW How Trump is misusing emergency powers in his tariffs policy And the implications when a ruler gains a taste for misusing emergency legislation By me Substack: emptycity.substack.com/p/how-trump-... Personal blog: davidallengreen.com/2025/04/how-...

The Chinese must be bricking it knowing they're up against a man who paid $420,000 to Michael Cohen to pay Stormy Daniels $130,000 so that no one ever found out he had sex with Stormy Daniels, sex described in detail both in her autobiography and a hush money court case where he was found guilty.

Climate deniers in Trump administration be like.

If I’m being honest, I’m feeling pretty down about my small business. I’m working so hard but it’s been very quiet. It’s bloody difficult at the moment. Please have a look at what I do and repost to spread the word. www.gailmyerscough.co.uk

Exactly. He’s a malignant narcissist, a narcissistic sociopath, a megalomaniac. It’s all about this. Some of us tried to warn everyone.

the shift from “I never thought leopards would eat MY face” to “eat my face harder leopard daddy” must be studied

This is magnificent.

Perhaps one tiny tariff aimed at “American Candy” to free up a lot of retail space on Oxford Street.

Preach, Simon 🍪

‘Petty, simplistic and vindictive.’   @mrjamesob.bsky.social thinks the world should stop trying to explain Donald Trump, and should instead look to his ‘narcissistic’ personality.

More brilliance from Lily O’Farrell. This is so relatable 😐

Measles.

I will pay any tariff for a framed copy of this

Setting tariffs is not some presidential power set out in US constitution. Congress has delegated this power to Trump, and Congress can take it back. This ultimately is about Congressional weakness as about Presidential madness. This problem has a constitutional solution, if Congress wants it.

Put up by Katy Brand today - this is the story over and over again

Haha! Love this letter from Douglas Adams to his US editor about not Americanising the text of Hitchhiker's Guide. 🐋🌸

Got to love the signs...

Tragic, horrible, and completely preventable. And now going to be validated by RFK Jr in an official government capacity. America will dumb itself to death.

To the world: We are fighting back. Our movement has been silenced by the media here—but we are not backing down. This is what our streets looked like across multiple cities. Tomorrow, there will be more of us! Raise a glass to freedom. —With love, Your American allies.

This is an absolutely heartrending read. Becky was a much valued member of the Broken Frontier team for the best part of three years and the anger I feel as more and more details emerge only intensifies as the weeks go on. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Countries Are Telling Their Citizens Not To Visit The United States….

Absolutely superb, a comedy masterclass that does a better job of explaining the situation than any of the ‘serious’ news outlets

“Innocent until proven guilty” would be a reasonable thing to say about sexual assault if the rape conviction rate weren’t about 3%. Because either 1 in 4 women are lying about their own experience (for some reason) or a lot of people haven’t been proven guilty, while still definitely being rapists.

Here’s what you could have won 🫠

Nation Could Have Sworn Russell Brand Was Already Convicted Sex Offender

CNBC's Steve Liesman doesn't mince words about the way the White House calculated its tariff rates: "Nobody ever heard of this formula. Nobody has ever used this formula. So I’m sorry, but the conclusion seems to be the president kind of made this up as he went along... these are off the charts."

If you’re wondering “is this bleach thing real?” When Mrs K and I were chefs in the US, we always used organic chicken because, with basic chickens, you opened the bag and there would be a huge waft of, basically, Domestos. Your hands would stink of bleach. The meat tasted like dirty swimming pool.

Am not currently persuaded that fairly enforcing the law against corrupt politicians heralds the end of democracy, but am impressed by the reaching on display. Solid effort, 9/10 all round.
