Fantastic interview by Sally Sara with @sallymcmanus.bsky.social about the minimum wage decision this morning. www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...

Pay is going up for millions of working people. Wouldn’t happen without unions.

ACTU statement on the appalling atrocities in Gaza

I think a lot of Liberals will be working from home

Fair point

Peter Dutton DOES NOT want people to see this

Happy International Workers Day everyone!

The Wheel of Misfortune where every prize is a cut if you vote for Dutton has been making appearances at polling booths. There is even a “Gina Rinehart special prize” where you lose everything!

Exclusive video of the good people of the south coast scoping out the area for a potential nuclear reactor which happened to be where Peter Dutton was to have his press conference. Siren, Geiger counter and all

This is absolutely happening across the country. Polling stations in marginal seats are being swamped by “Liberal volunteers” who are members of the Exclusive Brethren cult. www.smh.com.au/politics/fed...

So this is why Dutton called the ABC “hate media”

Excellent @sallymcmanus.bsky.social on #AfternoonBriefing deftly pointing out the absurdity of the LNP claiming HECS relief is “elitist”. The rich pay their children’s university fees upfront. The poor incur debts that can last their entire lives #auspol

Rebranding alert: Peter Dutton as the all new smiley & warm Opposition leader

Hundreds of thousands of working Australians will be getting penalty rates when working over Easter. The bosses are trying to remove them. Labor has just committed to changing the law to protect them forever.

“Advance is a fake grassroots campaign run by fake ordinary Australians on behalf of extremely rich people.” @anthonyklan.bsky.social Must read piece on the agency that does the LNP's dirty work. With links to far-right climate denial, and where "facts are optional". archive.is/2025.04.17-1...

Liberals last

I can’t believe Peter Dutton now asking “Who do you trust?”After all the back flips, cuts & crazy nuclear policy, does he really want to know the answer?

Now employers are saying minimum wage workers should not earn enough to pay $3.94/day for lunch or to afford to rent in big cities. Albanese supports a real wage rise for these workers, Peter Dutton does not.

From slashing jobs in the Federal Department of Education, to witholding funding from schools not teaching what he wants taught, Peter Dutton's plan for education sounds eerily familiar...

I don't trust Dutton's backflip. I think he has those anti-worker policies (and far worse) planned. When he says "We made a mistake." he means the mistake of telling the Australian people just some of what he has planned. Dutton is deceitful, incompetent and dangerous. #auspol #AusVotes25

Yes - multiple things. I’m sure CEOs told him banning working from home would be popular

Your rights at work at risk with Peter Dutton

It took less than 24 hours for Dutton to backflip & put big business wage cutting schemes back on the table. CEOs and “dear friend” Gina must have been furious & pulled him back into line

Today the PM said he supports a real wage increase for Australia’s lowest paid workers. The Coalition does not. You can’t be serious about addressing the cost of living without supporting pay rises.

There are multiple things Peter Dutton does not understand about people being able to work from home. He has obviously not had to get on packed public transport or roads at peak times when EVERYONE has to travel. Peak hour costs EVERYONE time, money & stress. #insiders

Supermarkets have pumped up their prices to protect their profits & have not cared one bit about their customers who have been at their mercy when times have been tough. The ACTU exposed this in our Alan Fels inquiry, it is fantastic Albo has announced outlawing price gouging

30 min of Peter Dutton’s budget reply and no plan for wages or to support wage rises. You can’t address cost of living without a plan for wages. His only policy is cutting rights, jobs and a vision for young ppl to get extra shifts at the pub servicing business ppl lunches

Who’s next?

Michele O’Neil @australianunions.bsky.social President doing final prep for #NPC debate with the bosses starting soon on @abcnewsbot.bsky.social

Belinda Gread is sure lifting her profile. Really catchy slogan “Standing up for myself”, could be a winner

What about how Dutton says public sector workers should “come back to work”, as if people who are working from their home desk and not a desk in an office are not working! So many LNP pollies do interviews FROM THEIR HOMES. Should they not be in their offices 100% of the time?

New analysis of ABS union membership stats show young people are driving the big upsurge of 12.5% 15-23 yo 📈 53% 24-35 yo 📈 22% Average age union member now 44 down from 46 Tradies, community & healthcare biggest growth.

The RBA has been known to make the wrong call a key moments - sitting on their hands in 2017, telling ppl interest rates will stay on hold 2021. Let’s hope they don’t stuff it up again.

I can assure Peter Dutton that his claims that working families will be concerned if the RBA cuts interest rates next week are entirely wrong.

Is it true that Angus Taylor has eight long lunches programmed over just one week? If so, someone is getting dudded.

Dutton will champion ‘the right’ of wealthy business elites to have tax payer subsidised gourmet lunches but fight against school children accessing a free, nutritious daily meal Think it’s pretty clear what this Trumpanzee is “a threat” to… #TemuTrump #DuttonIsAThreat #LNPNeverAgain
