I don’t want to plant an American flag on Mars. I want healthcare that isn’t tied to my job, and won’t bankrupt me if I get sick. I want to be able to retire. I want my kid to be able to afford a house. I want the planet to be safe and healthy. Mars is not it~never was, never will be.

Reading To Kill a Mockingbird alongside my teen. Her first time, my 3rd or 4th? And this time around omg. It’s devastating. My kid (who often explains the world to me) says it’s cause we’re reading from Scout’s perspective- and she doesn’t get it cause she’s too young- but we as readers do. 1/2
