Funny story. The PCBs I order were accidently sent to the wrong address and had to be rerouted. They are supposed to show up here tomorrow. Plus side is that they showed up a lot faster than I'd expected.

I think these Christian Chick Tracts planted my fascination with Horror Manga. Which is poetic, if you remember how abrasive 90s Satanic Panic was.

I like this idea of Ben looking into a mirror and seeing the monster within, and the reality he has to face. At the same moment. I think this sets up the story I would like to tell with this prequal game. #pixelart #gamedev #indiedev #gaming

Don't know about you, but this winter has felt really, really long.

If you weren't aware, the Reddit APP allows you to post video w/ text in the same post. You can only do this on the app. It also will play the video in the subs thread. But you can't edit the post. You can only have 1 from of media in it. No text decoration.

No Shader #gamedev 🎮 C3 doesn't have a 3D lighting system, so I have to fake it. But it probably one of may favorites things to figure out. Forces me to be creative. Takes time though.

Listen, and sometimes my guard is down. But 99% of the time, that "guy who wants to talk about your game" is a scammer. You should just block them immediately. This one, using chat-gpt, scammed me out some time. I really hope "Use steam for exposure" isn't taken from a legit source.

One of the fun things about making games in html is that I can have webpages pop up - such as this promo page. But in that window, I could load up entire games, with full screen options. I, theoretically, could load up my Game Boy games as well. #gamedev #webdev

Just imagined a scenario where this guy is legit, justifiably angry. He's giving the works. Cussing, yelling, maybe throws something. As a bystander, you really feel it. Then he says, "by the crack of my ass!".

So the demo is 90% finished. Here are some clips. Biggest change is how the enemies hurt you. I gave them "attacks", because the game moves too fast just to have them collide. #gamedev

Added a NES'ish fade in. #gamedev I approach "game feel" by remembering "everything has a beginning, middle and end". If something feels off, it's because the story is incomplete. Pay attention to the enemies popping out of the pods. Feels bland, because there is no story being told.

Here, we have pink mist and a dialogue system that's setup for localization. Drop in a "X" json language file, and done. That system is a feel good moment for me, because I think it took 30 min. to create. If I didn't pause to watch wrestling every 5 min. this game would be completed. 😆 #gamedev

Having a scream at the clouds moment. Context: I bought my last pair of Levi's around 2005. "WTF happen to Levi's jeans! They don't feel like denim!" Scream over.

Universal arena stuff is programmed. Now for the more unique stuff, like having the enemies burst through walls. Also, if you remember the game LOADED for the PSX. It had a really cool "splat" when you killed enemies. May need to borrow that. #gamedev
