BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.” They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

“Trump is using military forces to stop a protest — I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us.” Doechii at the #BETAwards

Reshare to scare the data bros and popularism acolytes

rfk jr is a mass serial killer and that's how he should be described in headlines, not as "a vaccine skeptic" he's no skeptic, his plan is to murder millions of people for his eugenics fetish

All that Republicans really seem to want is to massacre their fellow citizens, and they seem to want it very much. I think it would be responsible for the public discourse to include this fact in every single story about pretty much any topic.

if you're into alliteration, rfk jr is also a batshit bear buggerer

I kinda stopped following tennis when I moved and stopped playing, which was also around the time Federer retired and Serena was almost done. But my two favorite young players won this weekend, so I'm happy for Coco and Carlos.

well, fuck sly, thanks for the funk

I wish this had been true.

trump and crew are creating a crisis so we take our eyes off the abomination of a bill going through congress. This is what they do, they create a multitude of immediate crisis's to divert our attention. We can walk and chew gum at the same time, we can address them all! Keep strong LA!

being a ceo must be incredible you get like $50 million a year just to be a total dipshit who doesn't know anything about the business you run

Here's your LAPD when they think no one's looking

Americans are taking to the streets and showing up in US cities by the thousands to protest a plethora of President Donald Trump’s second-term policies. In response? Tear gas deployed and protesters shot with rubber bullets in LA. A WIRED guide on how to protest safely:

When President Johnson activated the Nat'l Guard in Alabama in 1965 over Gov. Wallace's objection he did it to protect protesters advocating for voting rights for Black people who had previously met violence at the hands of state troopers. Very different situation.

being a conservative columnist at a major newspaper must rock so hard. an explicit mandate never to learn anything. approach every new day as though you just fired a roman candle directly up your own nose. that's the life

“It was 1982 and not only did I arrive on Broadway but so did AIDS. This was no time to hide.” Groundbreaking gay playwright and actor Harvey Fierstein accepting his award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. #TonyAwards

The people calling on autonomous vehicles just to set them on fire is objectively the most beautiful artistic expression using tech as a canvas in history.

lmaoooooo hell yeah LA

FIFA would do well to cancel all World Cup matches in the U.S. next year, move them all to Canada and Mexico.

I hate this country

Most people know that you’re statistically more likely to be murdered by someone you know than a stranger. BUT, most people don’t know that if you are murdered by a stranger— there’s a 30% chance that stranger IS A COP.

Utterly surreal hearing silence during the match instead of being lead by the 3252. Powerful AF. #lafc #abolishice

for context here’s a map of greater Los Angeles and the protest is the roughly the red circle

I feel a bit bad for the scooters to be honest. Those scooters help get people from the dispensary to Trader Joe's. Meanwhile, a cop car never serves public good in any way whatsoever.

As someone who lives in Los Angeles, don’t let social or mainstream media gaslight you into thinking there’s a violent uprising taking place here. The Trump administration is trying to punish this state and this city. He’s also setting a precedent to unleash troops on Democratic cities.

If Karen Bass can't control the police force, then she needs to fire every single cop in the LAPD. If she does, crime rates will immediately go down.

LAPD fired rubber bullets at Australian journalist @laurentomasi.bsky.social

Between the fires and these protests, I hope this year teaches everyone that most of the shit talking you hear about California and more specifically, LA, comes from racists and gentrifying transplants. Most people love living here and would do anything to protect it.

Statistically “America” is its cities. But we’re stuck with an 18th century political architecture that gives votes to cornfields & thus makes it politically viable to treat them as some kind of weird tumor.

People need to understand the word “criminal” is the easiest weapon for an authoritarian to use and work on changing their emotional reactions to the word and recognize they’ve spent most of their lives being manipulated into vilifying allies to the delight of the wealthy.

I just have to say for those of you not in LA that in the days before the horrible raids started, there was no crisis or whatever they would let you believe. It wasn't like something was escalating out of control and somebody had to step in. THEY are creating the problems.

Remember kids: Jan 6th: Cops beaten, capitol seized, people killed = peaceful and patriotic. Today: Peaceful protesting, non violent = Insurrectionists that require military involvement. According to the present administration / regime.

There is no mass-deportation campaign going on right now. Deportation is a process. This is kidnapping and human trafficking.

Nuno Mendes was spectacular though, best player of the match for Portugal, imo.

de la Fuente's strategy to take the most talented players in the world off the pitch didn't work out for some reason

Didn't care much for de la Fuente's personnel choices today.

ugh, penalties, I'm not watching that

They're tear-gassing babies in strollers and elderly Chicano community leaders in Los Angeles. This is a completely peaceful march.

how were there less than 2 minutes of injury time?

Pedri is amazing. Greatest midfielder in the world. My favorite midfielder since Xavi.
