We had a brilliant afternoon at the Scottish Parliament today attending the STAF event and the Promise Oversight Board event. It was fantastic to see the amount of enthusiasm in the room

Today marks the fifth anniversary of the launch of The Promise. We remain fully committed to improving our services across Renfrewshire to ensure they are inclusive and sensitive to the needs of our Care Experienced community. #KeepThePromise

Pleased to welcome First Minister @johnswinney.bsky.social to the UofG campus to meet our widening participation team and some of our care-experienced students. The group discussed The Promise, Scotland’s commitment to care-experienced young people, and the support that UofG provides.

Our Renfrewshire Language Policy provides clear guidance for acceptable and non-stigmatising language use when speaking about Care Experience. This is an example of how we listened to our Care Experienced community. #KeepThePromise

We have over 340 Promise Keepers in Renfrewshire who work every day to enact small changes in their services to improve outcomes for the Care Experienced community. We will continue to grow the numbers and diversity of the network. #KeepThePromise

Brilliant to catch up with Natalie Don-Innes MSP on Friday. We spoke about the ongoing work across Renfrewshire and The Promise including our Promise Keeper Network and our efforts around Supporting the Workforce and supporting Care Experienced young people with employment

At the start of this year, I set a goal to read 12 books. 16928 pages and 52 books later, armed with my dyslexia tinted reading glasses, I have officially averaged one book a week for 2024. I am so proud of having broken down this barrier and have been able to discover a fantastic new hobby!

For the second half of the morning, we had a professional speed dating session including nine different services in Renfrewshire. Attendees spent ten mins at each table learning about their work around The Promise
