Why do I end up dating younger men? Candace Bushnell said, “Younger guys ask a lot of questions; the older men only talk about themselves.” Was on an app talking to a guy my age who answered my questions but asked nothing back. Going on a date with a hot young conversationalist instead.

They knew. There are still predators working for the BBC. I know about one of them because of friends who worked there. The BBC will know too. They will have been reported or strong rumours. I guess the BBC will be hoping they don’t surface. They aren’t investigating or outing them. So fuck the BBC.

Just caught Furiosa, looked very nice but had no idea what was going and Chris Hemsworth’s Australian accent was terrible.

Woke up too early so watched Bicycle Thieves on Amazon Prime, which has an excellent HD remaster. People always moan about Prime's film selection ("bottom shelf of Blockbuster at closing time" etc) but they've got way more pre-2000 movies than the other big streamers, many of them actual classics.

I’m curious about is what the fees were. Film is struggling to cast right now as TV is paying so much more, agents give big quotes and hold out for telly. I know of an actor being paid a million an episode for a ten ep series for a streamer. Jaw dropping number. Things are very askew right now.

Anyone else massively disappointed that it turns out that’s how Leanne actually dresses. Was anticipating a big reveal where she’s sporting docs and a buzz cut.

For what it’s worth, I just burned through the latest, the third, series of The Split. A series for women over 50. Of which I am one.

Exactly as I said to @nomadicwriter.bsky.social, that very few commissioners actually think this. They KNOW Nicola Walker, Suranne Jones, Sarah Lancashire etc have a huge audience. This person is likely an ignorant idiot. The problem is there are too many ignorant idiot gatekeepers in the business.

Struggling to “find the joy” today, then I saw this.

God. About time.

I have to add, Lucian Msamati was bloody brilliant in Conclave. He’s always bloody brilliant. And he’s bloody nice too as I’ve met him on a couple of occasions. Put him in everything.

At a time when audio drama and entertainment is having a moment, it seems short-sighted of the BBC to cut their radio drama slots. Still, that is what they have been quietly doing. Sign the petition opposing their latest cuts. chng.it/V6QyDwkfbp

Great news, these placemats are reduced in the John Lewis sale

alright you wanna know how to support trans people? hire them. It's REALLY hard already for visibly trans people to get jobs, even before this shit. Support places that have trans people working front of house, and make sure owners know that's part of why you're there.

Conclave is fckn gripping. I don’t know how accurate the innards of The Vatican are but it was faaaaaascinating. Also… don’t cross Isabella Rossellini.

Blocked as many sexbots on here in a month than ten years on Twitter. What the fuck is going on?

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

Nosferatu is camp and gorgeous and fabulous and Lily Rose Depp is revelatory, but the backbone is about male on female stalking, and the ultimate inevitably of the obsessive intention. That’s what makes it unexpectedly relevant and pretty discomfiting.

Goddammit I love this film.

I've always loved the fact that the word 'sneeze' is the result of a historical accident. The original form, in the Middle Ages, was 'fnese', but someone mistook the 'f' for the long medieval 's' and wrote down 'sn-' instead. Fneezing sounds much more like a proper, nasal sneeze.

Incredible set piece. Joyful.

Funny that.

I’m non monogamous but I do think Nick Offerman may offer everything I need.
