Dreams fulfilled. An answer to the question: what next? What’s next for me? For my family? For my community? That’s what opportunity is all about. And it’s what our Plan for Change will deliver for millions of people across the country. Change is happening.

Have you seen @commonswec.parliament.uk new report on the rights of older people, out today? Our report found pervasive ageism across the UK, and recommends.. ➡️Strengthening age discrimination law ➡️Updating digital inclusion strategy ➡️Establish an older peoples commissioner in England

Happy #ValentinesDay to everyone with love in their heart, no matter what form it takes. ❤️ I think there are very few people who have a stone cold heart. How could I resist a quick selfie with this gorgeous postbox topper today of all days? #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe #PostBoxTopper #LoveHearts

We’ve still got a lot to do to fix the economy but: 📉 Inflation is down 🏡 Mortgage rates are falling 💷 Wages growing at fastest rate in 3 years 📈 Business investment at a 19-year high 🌍 IMF & OECD predict: UK will be one of fastest-growing economies 👇

I held my surgery in Overseal this morning and had people come to me with such personal, heartbreaking stories as well as others with worries over an incinerator and closure of care homes. Wherever my team and I can help, we will. #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe

Women have disproportionately paid the price when our health service has failed. The Women and Equalities Committee is leading work on healthcare inequalities and medical misogyny - and I urge Ministers to place women's needs at the heart of the plan to fix the NHS. #endometriosis #womenshealth

Great to see this in Parliament today. 🙌🏻 When we include more people we don’t just make things fairer we bring more opportunity to more people. Which means more prosperity. Win win win!! #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe

The first duty of any government is to protect its citizens. The Tories failed to maintain our flood defences putting lives and livelihoods at risk. Labour is investing a record £2.65bn to upgrade and build defences to protect communities. www.ft.com/content/4d8a...

It was an incredible honour to be invited by their Majesties the King and Queen to a reception for new MPs at #BuckinghamPalace. I thanked #TheKing for his years of activism on environmental issues and the #ClimateCrisis. He said, “the time is now”. And it is. It has to be.

Fantastic time last night at @inhousecomms.bsky.social inaugural political podcast awards. Great to see my personal favourite @skynewss.bsky.social Electoral Dysfunction with @bethrigby.bsky.social Ruth Davidson & Harriet Harman scoop some awards!

Today it was a pleasure to host the @nspcc.bsky.social roundtable event in Parliament to discuss their new report, ‘Viewing Generative AI and Children’s Safety in the Round’. You can read it here: ➡️ learning.nspcc.org.uk/research-res... #GenerativeAI #Children #OnlineSafety

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz. Last week in Parliament, with great solemnity, I signed the Book of Remembrance in Parliament. You can find out more about Holocaust Memorial Day here: ➡️ hmd.org.uk 🧵

A strong woman I am proud to have as a colleague sharing her story about metastatic breast cancer. Thank you @ashleydaltonmp.bsky.social may you continue to kick its arse and be one step ahead!

Stability, investment, growth. 📈 “The UK’s relative stability at a time of instability should not be underestimated, nor should its strength in key sectors including technology.” You can read more here: ➡️ tinyurl.com/5n838pha

It was great to be out on the doors today in Church Gresley telling people about the £1.6bn record investment the govt. is making to fix #potholes. C£76m of it coming to Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire with the Mayor. 🙌🏻 Great to warm up with tea and cake afterwards. ❤️ #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe

I am proud to sit on the @commonswomequ.parliament.uk select committee chaired by Sarah Owen. You can see our latest report with recommendations here: publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm5901/cm...

It was great to welcome the Roads Minister to the Midlands today on National Pothole Day 🕳️ We discussed important local issues including: ✅ Potholes ✅ Roadwork chaos ✅ Branston Bridge ✅ A50/A500 congestion After JCB showcased their Pothole Pro, we took a drive to see the state of our roads👇

Well there’s a day for everything and today it’s #NationalPotHoleDay and I am DELIGHTED that our East Midlands Mayor will have almost £76m allocated to fix our roads. I’ll be fighting for our share of that for #SouthDerbyshire Proud to stand with our Secretary for Transport & Minister for Roads.

A few words on returning to Parliament this week. 🤯 Exceeds the 60 second Bluesky limit so need to take you to TikTok to see it… vm.tiktok.com/ZGdBT5X7B/

Just like much of the furore this week, here is an example of a law passed 4 years ago and the Tories did nothing with it. Within months of us being in power we delivered the scheme because we are about actual actions and real outcomes. They talked we walked. www.burytimes.co.uk/news/2484314...

I’m incredibly proud to have written my first column for Derby Telegraph. Some of us Derby City and Derbyshire MPs are on a rota to write one with my next one due in February. #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe

A great weekend with a visit to Royal Mail distribution centre in Swad, my surgery in Melbourne, a post office topper in Ticknall & then the final session of the year knocking on doors speaking to people back in Swad ❤️ #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe

A little bit of Swadlincote in Parliament….❤️ You can see their wares here: ➡️ www.madeinswad.co.uk (BTW Dan and I use the desks in the small darker section so our teams who spend more time in the actual office can have the better space.) #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe #SmallBusinessSaturday

How exciting to see a local Melbourne based business, Ashby Lighting, quite literally lighting up ‘the big screen’….💡 @wickedthemovie.bsky.social #Melbourne #SouthDerbyshire

Every Wednesday, I Chair the Women and Equalities Committee - a group of cross-party MPs who meet to discuss issues such as women's health, tackling abuse, community cohesion and more We look at government policy and make sure it delivers for everyone - from Luton North to the rest of the country

Obesity robs our kids of the best possible start in life, sets them up for a lifetime of health problems, and costs the NHS billions. This Government is taking action now to end the targeting of junk food ads at kids, across both TV and online. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/gove...

First Sunday in advent AND the 1st December!?!?! It’s time to crack out the #Christmas music. I tunes that remind me of being little & make me feel nostalgic & festive? For me, these are some of them and my first official track is always from Jim Reeves …..🎄🧑‍🎄 ➡️ open.spotify.com/playlist/1md...

When you spot a bunch of friendly Labour Party activists out spreading the word about their local MP and get to hop out the car and join them briefly! Happy me! 🥰🥰🥰 #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe

There’s a fab Christmas fayre on today at Sharpe's Pottery Museum ahead of the #Christmas light switch on later. It’s not every day you get to meet giant dancing #BrusselSprouts! Are you a sprout lover or loather? I LOVE ‘em. ❤️ I’m partial to a bit of #gingerbread too…. #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe

I had my surgery in Stenson Fields today. The topic of conversation was varied, from pylons to pigeons, TUPE to Visas. I am always pleased to meet people I represent and wherever I can offer the help that the office of MP affords me. #SouthDerbyshire #WeNotMe
