A close up and the full picture. I'm terrified posting this but had to give something new a go.

Needs a click to see it all. I painted this in the summer holidays with a room full of children and the imminent loss of my sanity. 'Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.' Marcel Proust.

I repainted this for someone last year. Made a point with this one of including more cowslips and stitchwort. Along with the Robin, all favourites of mine. If you know anyone who might need to hear these words (or enjoy these flowers), do please share. I'd be so grateful.

You may well need to click on this image to see it in full. But I hope you do as you should enjoying the huge old moon I painted at the top. This is painted on Italian watercolour paper. You can't using masking fluid, you can't rub out and you can layer too much or it'll disintegrate. I love it.

Foxes - beautiful and always a joy to paint (or in the case of the right hand picture, draw in colour pencils).

3 of my long, thin 'sun' series of paintings. Painted on Italian hand made paper which is - I confess - a bit of a nightmare to paint on. Very unforgiving and disintegrates if you try to correct your drawing with a rubber. But I loved how they turned out.

A beautiful grey horse, fast asleep amongst the silver birch trees, with a wee red fox to watch over him. This is a card and a print and you can see all my work on www.samcannonart.co.uk If you know any foolish people who love foxes, birds, trees, flowers, poetry and lettering, they'll love it.

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; continued....

Some dachshund love today. These pictures were all based on the beautiful photographs of Christine Cummings, the late ceramics artist. Such fun to draw. Such beautiful dogs.

“You are always new. The last of your kisses was ever the sweetest; the last smile the brightest;' John Keats A message of love this morning. Be it about your human or your animal loves.

Flower cards. If you have the urge to send someone a message of love, or a burst of bright colours, I have heaps of cards that will fit the bill. I'm working on painting summer leaves on trees today. It's really helping on such a bloody cold day!

Words by Walt Whitman. Long tails, cherry blossom and the promise of warmth, love and dear friends. I have this picture as a card too 😊

I ask you to pass through life at my side - to be my second self, and best earthly companion. Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre Beautiful words. samcannonart.co.uk/wp-content/u... to see all my cards.

Nuthatches Stunning birds who I'm lucky enough to see here in the garden all the time. Once I seemed to have the hungriest one ever. I thought he'll struggle to fly if he eats much more. So I stood and waited and it was obvious there were lots coming. What an absolute gift.

My new cat painting. I am 100% team dog so the world of cats has eluded me. It's easy enough to paint a cat. But it's harder to capture the essence of a cat (if that makes sense). I tried to make this chap regal and set off the beautiful contrast in colours. I really hope you like it.

Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life. Mark Twain. And thoughts of Spring and and warmer days ahead. With the most beautiful of birds.

Let's take our hearts for a walk in the woods and listen to the magic whispers of old trees. Author unknown I don't normally paint on paper this big and in the end this watercolour took two full weeks of painting. A lot of that filled with indecision. I love the Swifts flying amongst the leaves.

Two foxes, reflected in the water. I love the foxes in this picture so much and would really like to make a little story up for them. An adventure. Watercolours on watercolour paper.

St Valentine's day is only 10 days away. And this card remains a firm favourite each year. 'You are my sun, my moon and all of my stars'. e e cummings You can find all of my cards - and I've put the ones suitable for Valentine's at the top, here: www.samcannonart.co.uk/greetings-cards

On the off chance that you may be in a relationship with a human who enjoys messages of love, I have some unique cards and tiny painted pebbles. If not, I cannot recommend enough sharing your life with animals. So much love and just the best for cuddles.

A little step may be the beginning of a great journey. I try to remember this when I'm trying something new. I may not get the outcome I want. But I always hope it's a step towards where I want to go.

“All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well” Julian of Norwich Painted in watercolours with Schmincke Aqua Bronze for the gold lettering. With inclusive imperfections in my work, a sure sign that it's done by hand and not a computer program.

Martin Luther King Jr. It was true when he said it and it's just as true now. A colour pencil drawing from many years ago.
