Really sad news about John Prescott. Blair’s left hand man. From cruise ship steward to Deputy PM, that’s one hell of a journey. 👇👇This from @samcoatessky.bsky.social is worth a listen

Don’t think today’s John Prescott coverage is about the past. It’s very much about today - and a great prism to understand present day Labour. Download wherever you get your podcasts

Agree with this analysis from Sam. The assisted dying bill has quickly become one of the most politically problematic issues for the new government, all stemming from Keir Starmer’s promise of a vote on ITV News in March.

My piece on how some in No10 are hoping the assisted dying legislation itself dies a death news.sky.com/story/miscal...

Alex Burghart will represent the Tories against Angela Rayner at Deputy PMQs on Wednesday

Also on the podcast, I say Keir Starmer is at early stage planning his own trip to China next year, in another sign of the thaw. This will be after the Rachel Reeves visit

On the podcast, I reveal sources say that no tears will be shed by Morgan McSweeny if the Assisted Dying legislation doesn’t pass While not taking a view on the issue, the politics is increasingly problematic This will dominate next year and mean months of red on red if it passes on November 29

The problem with verification by domain, as well as being a bit complicated, is it requires changing your handle, which then becomes available to others to take- a recipe for confusion, rather than clarity.

The Kemi account is fake according to @samcoatessky.bsky.social Shows the verification issue…
