So now that UK government has forced Apple to remove end-to-end encryption on iCloud, if there’s a data breach due to that, does it mean UK government can then be held liable for damages caused? Because ffs they should be. www.reuters.com/technology/a...

This is a line from the Hobbit film, but still very much worth sharing as work inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien. #Booksky

I understand you are frustrated, but if you think government contracts to SpaceX are a sign of corruption, look at how much money was given in past to e.g. Boeing and Lockheed, and for what results, before SpaceX came around and made getting to orbit significantly cheaper for all.

@melissabonny.bsky.social was great to see you play live for the first time in Helsinki! It surpassed all expectations. I was a fan before but even more so now. Also, love how the new album is different in style from the previous ones! Always great to see musicians break new ground :-)

Missing a few things: - snowboarding (with friends) - board games (and friends to play them with) - reading - writing And whoever created that originally has never had a home-cooked meal by yours truly.

I did a bit of a write-up of my 2024 when it comes to playing #boardgames. In case you're interested in checking it out: samipaju.com/blog/board-g... Games mentioned include: - Dune: War for Arrakis - Inventions - Horseless Carriage - Zhanguo - Capital Lux 2: Generations - Endeavor: Deep Sea

For someone in the hobby it's easy to keep up with the hype train and become aware of games like Arcs and SETI, but what have been your most interesting new under the radar #boardgame discoveries of 2024? For me: Zhanguo (the new version), River of Gold, and Capital Lux 2: Generations.

Sometimes I feel like the UI designers at Microsoft must be getting paid by the number of drop-down menus. Or how else would you explain so many baffling drop-downs that only have 1-2 choices in them?

Shame the article doesn't mention if the 4-day work week comes without reduction in salary. If salary stays the same, I could easily see how this might work even better than hoped. But if not, the question is how many can afford to take it? www.businessinsider.com/tokyo-introd...

Reading Pratchett is way more educational than it has any right to be, considering how obnoxiously entertaining his writing manages to be at the same time.

This is probably the most excited I've been about a new computer since I built my first PC as a teen 🤩

Ha! This one is easy.

First five in order. After that, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Rammstein Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Electric Callboy Ghost Lorna Shore Swallow the Sun Leprous Ne Obliviscaris Eluveitie Soen

Like in any epic story, it came down to the final battle that settled the outcome of the machinations that had been taken place for the past four hours. #boardgames, am I rite? 😎

New from me on what the rage and glee on public display after the killing of a healthcare CEO portends. I suspect the corporate world will respond with more security and retreating even more into their gated lives. They would be advised to read up on history. 🎁🔗 www.nytimes.com/2024/12/06/o...

Has anyone else noticed how OP the Zamor Curved Sword is at least for PvE? The weapon skill easily does 3k+ damage, and as an AoE works great against groups of enemies too. #eldenring
