23 hours late for #ConfinedCocktails but here now with a delicious sauvignon. Slut's spaghetti for an early tea due to scheduling another attempt on Uranus tonight.

Glorious #UnconfinedWalks to celebrate the arrival of Spring. I joined up a tarmac cycle route with a return leg along the canal. Birdsong, warm sunshine and Lizzy Bennet petticoats (aka leggings).

This grey, dank, soggy winter has turned most of my #UnconfinedWalks paths into quagmires. Pavement loop again, but now managing to see catkins, such as these lovely hazel tassels.

First #UnconfinedWalks in ages where I could go at my own pace. I'm on top of my work, it isn't perishing and there's enough colour and warmth to be pleasurable. Mostly pavement but did a detour to look at one of my paths. Still very muddy.

Starting early for #ConfinedCocktails because the Mighty Sky Blues did an absolute smash and grab on Sheffield Weds today! Injury time winner. 1 point and 1 place from the playoffs! Currently cooking lasagne with a twist because hey, ran out of lasagne without realising!

Heading north for an interesting consultancy job. From an #UnconfinedWalks pov, more smears of grey...

My #UnconfinedWalks today was a swim in the local pool. Used to go regularly but had a huge panic attack when I tried to go back after the pandemic. Thoroughly enjoyed it today. Warm, bright and colourful unlike outside! And a colourful iris in the garden when I got home.

Come & work with me! Principal Records Specialist - Maps job at The National Archives (UK). Apply by 12 Feb. www.civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk/csr/jobs.cgi... #MapMonday #ArchivesJobs #MondayMotivation

Rachel Reeves holds newts in contempt, it seems. So I thought I'd post this glorious painting of a "lion of the duckweed" by Jackie Morris + my paean to these "kings of the pond", both from The Lost Words. Newt-lovers, unite!

Apologies the link was not working in earlier post, let's try this again! The Annual UK Archive Service Survey from The National Archives UK - help demonstrate the social and economic importance of #archives Deadline 14 March

Compromise #UnconfinedWalks today because squeezing lots in. Arm aching tree lopping followed by getting the telescope out ready to have a bash at the parade of planets tonight. It's heavy and awkward so never spontaneous. Hoping to photograph Saturn, Jupiter and Mars 🤞

Too hazy to be worth getting my telescope out BUT had a fantastic 10 minutes with binoculars and saw Saturn, Venus, Jupiter and Mars, and the ISS arc-ed across the sky, carving a path between Jupiter and Mars. Magic.

Storm #Eowyn definitely proving sleeve flappingly worthy of the name #LoTR

Mild, sunny #UnconfinedWalks. Still the same pavement slog but things are happening in the garden! And there were molehills. And I still can't focus on a mobile phone camera!

#UnconfinedWalks around the same old pavement route. An interesting solar panel arrangement (looks permanent) and a huge hole at the bottom of our driveway following a major power cut earlier this week.

Routine pavement slog for #UnconfinedWalks before lunchtime tested my willpower as I have to walk past the chippy on the last leg... The smell is a tad distracting.

Grey, functional #UnconfinedWalks with evidence of storms, floods and doubtlessly plagues as well if I'd looked more closely.
