Now that it's out in audio, I finally read this book by my internet pal Sam. It's excellent! Many have made the comp to last year's Hugo winner, Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh. And that's valid and true. They cover similar ground.

Please read this. There's so much else that's gone, too, that people don't even know they miss. If you were an adult before 9-11, you remember a world without ICE. You remember a world where you could just drive to Canada or Mexico. Turns out you gotta fight to keep everything you have.

Shigidi and the Brass Head of Obalufon is super fun, fast-paced and heisty. If you missed this when it came out, you should take a look!! bookshop.org/p/books/shig...

504 plans are how kids can carry EpiPens or make sure their classroom is peanut free. It’s how kids with diabetes can use insulin. It’s how kids with mobility issues can have more passing time or use an elevator. An attack on 504 is an attack on everyone. Listen to @lollardfish.bsky.social.

For all the USPS's faults, Americans have to realize: It's one of the best postal services in the world, even after being kneecapped by DeJoy. Fight for our postal service, guys. I know I will. It is an essential public good.

Um my husband just dug this up from some forgotten box. Nobody told me I married the coolest kid in school!!

banging on Nintendo's front door begging for a new Animal Crossing in these trying times

Books designed to be read only by human eyes are different from books designed to be read by machines, which is why Google will tell you that the phrase “shake my booty” can be found in an 1863 English translation of Don Quixote.

I resent having to have so much anger in my heart all the time. Because it’s not my default. I’m a happy person by default.

Poltergeist (1982). It was our rainy day pick to spook ourselves out as kids and I still love it

Um, I watched Highlander 2 for the first time. Huh? What?? He's from another planet or maybe the past, but forgot. His lover from the first movie died of solar radiation from the hole in the ozone layer so he built a force field over the earth and now it's all dingy Burton-Batman-esque cityscapes

ICYMI!!!!!

#BSFA announced the long list for their annual award. Both THE WINGS UPON HER BACK by @samtasticbooks.com and NEW ADVENTURES IN SPACE OPERA edited by @jonathanstrahan.bsky.social were honored www.bsfa.co.uk/bsfa-... @bsfa.bsky.social @lisarodgers.bsky.social @awfulagent.bsky.social

The Wings Upon Her Back is one of this year's Compton Crook finalists! :D locusmag.com/2025/02/2025...

Whether it's Hillary Clinton sharing risotto tips on a private email server or Elon Musk giving full access to all government information to a nineteen-year old named Big Balls with ties to a child pornography collective known for its extortion techniques, both sides have played loose with security.

ICYMI! I already said this once elsewhere but will repeat because I liked it: Though I am not myself cool, I am proud today to stand on the shoulders of cool giants 😎

ONE NINETY NINE IS A STEAL!! Read this boooook. The ending goes so hard. The whole thing goes so hard. It's very angry, very horny, one of the most memorable books of the year for me

Democrats will hold the Senate floor "all night" to protest the nomination of Russ Vought, a leading Project 2025 architect, to head the Office of Management and Budget.
