I’m so very grateful for all the wonderful people I have met through TTRPGs. Today’s IRL Vampire: the Requiem session is such an example of an intruiging bunch of strangers who come together to play, and end up as dear friends.

Even though I wasn't mentally there, the Vampire: the Masquerade session I ran yesterday was fine. The coterie got clues about the attacks on loved-ones of the Anarchs in the city. Sometimes you being there for 20% is your 100% for that day, and that's okay. You showed up, that's what matters.

If I had a euro every time H-cell sets a building ablaze to hide evidence of their wrongdoings, I would have two euros. That doesn't sound like a lot, but we only played 6 sessions with this group 😇 Feels like 'subtle' and 'inconspicuous' are not how H-cell rolls... #DeltaGreen #ttrpg

My Vampire: the Requiem/Mekhet character Jennifer needs to talk to a Daeva who can pull some strings with the media to prevent a potential masquerade breach. That's why she finds herself in a swingers club with her boyfriend of 6 months, the Ventrue in the coterie. It's fine, it's perfectly fine.

TTRPGs this week: - playing Vampire: the Requiem - playing Delta Green - running Vampire: the Masquerade - playing Vampire: the Requiem IRL A lot of darkness this week, can still be escapism when IRL seems more bleak than our imaginary worlds.

#FlashFicFeb - Day 13 - Diversity A short story in the Amsterdam by Night / Vampire: the Masquerade setting Anarchs vs Camarilla is a tale as old as time. It now has taken to the streets of Amsterdam. How do both sides react?

I'm way behind on my #FlashFicFeb challenge. So I won't be posting all of them anymore, but only occasionally. It's a fun challenge, but there is a lot going on IRL right now. And I don't want to force myself to keep writing when I don't feel like it.

#FlashFicFeb - Day 11 - Change A short story in the Amsterdam by Night / Vampire: the Masquerade setting If you live for many years, sometimes unlife can become a bit boring. Luckily, there are always the young that can change our perspective.

I realized something about my Delta Green agent tonight: she is willing to throw their bonds under the bus if that means she can save the agents from her cell. Agent Baker lost too many agents in her watch as a handler, and she is determined to not add more to that list.

#FlashFicFeb - Day 10 - Difference A short story in the Amsterdam by Night / Vampire: the Masquerade setting CW: dead child A nightly stroll with a Hecata at one of the graveyards in Amsterdam. You never know what (or who) you are going to encounter.

My new Vampire the Masquerade PC is a fledgling Tremere, who got Embraced because she was asking too many questions about her mother’s death (who was part of the SI). But Tremere are bookish, and Lynn likes action. So she’s going to follow other clans around to learn from them on the go.

#FlashFicFeb - Day 9 - Habit A short story in the Amsterdam by Night / Vampire: the Masquerade setting Sometimes even the smallest of gestures can betray who's behind the mask. Habits are so difficult to change, even after 13 year of being a kindred.

#FlashFicFeb - Day 8 - Escape A short story in the Amsterdam by Night / Vampire: the Masquerade setting CW: religion When something as confusing as the Embrace happens, one soothing and calm voice can be very helpful in making sense of it all. Regardless of whose voice it is.

#TTRPGs this week: - run Vampire: the Masquerade for our Dutch AP podcast project - have a session 0 for a V:tM campaign, set in Amersfoort, in which I’m going to play a Tremere fledgling - play Delta Green: Impossible Landscapes in which my PC is still alive and sane. I know, impossible, right?! 😱

#FlashFicFeb - Day 7 - Acceptance A short story in the Amsterdam by Night / Vampire: the Masquerade setting Being a thin-blood can be though in kindred society. No wonder some of them will do anything to become a full member of the all-night society. Even if that means selling out your friends.

Since tearing my menisci 1,5 years ago made it impossible for me to continuing being a referee for Pro Wrestling Holland anymore, I hadn’t been to any of their shows. I couldn’t bring myself to go. But today I went, and I had a great time. So thankful for the warm welcome back from the crew ❤️

#FlashFicFeb - Day 6 - Leaders A short story in the Amsterdam by Night / Vampire: the Masquerade setting Secrets will not stay buried for long in kindred society. And there is always someone who can take advantage of them. Especially the one that deems himself a better leader.

#FlashFicFeb - Day 5 - Needs A short story in the Amsterdam by Night / Vampire: the Masquerade setting A professor at the university and an Anarch in the all-night society, what better way is there to combine kine and kindred viewpoints on society and the Beast?

#FlashFicFeb - Day 4 - Rules A short story in the Amsterdam by Night/Vampire: the Masquerade setting CW: blood Two kindred try to combine the blood sorcery of the Banu Haqim and Tremere to control the Beast, but apparently they are missing a vital ingredient.

#FlashFicFeb - Day 3 - Truth A short story in the Amsterdam by Night/Vampire: the Masquerade setting A ghoul is writing the chronicle of the city. Many decades, centuries even, have passed, but does there ever really change anything?

TTRPG session #1 - VtR: come up with a plan to solve a problem that the coterie needs to deal with asap. TTRPG session #2 - DG: be the problem that the cell needs to come up with a plan for.

#TTRPGs this week: - playing Vampire: the Requiem in which our coterie tries to solve some problems in Sunset Park. - playing Delta Green, in which my PC is just coming out of an episode. - running Vampire: the Masquerade, in which the coterie tries to find out where the new thinbloods came from.

#FlashFicFeb - Day 2: New A short story in the Amsterdam by Night/Vampire: the Masquerade setting The other side of the coin: the daughter. A daughter who just a fledgling gets confronted with the mother she hasn't seen in over 30 years, but who hasn't aged a day.

#FlashFicFeb - Day 1 - Rage I focus the short stories this month on NPCs from the Amsterdam/Vampire: the Masquerade setting we've been building for over 3 years now. The first one is about Elena, a Lasombra whose Hecata husband surprised her with a cursed gift.

Today, we kicked off Amsterdam by Night 2.0 (Vampire:the Masquerade, V5) with an IRL session. So much love for my players and the wonderful characters they have created. Always keeping me on my toes as a ST/GM, like having to invent the mechanics for a poker game in V5 on the spot.

Every year, I participate in #FlashFicFeb by @storytellingco.bsky.social. So for the next 28 days, I’ll be writing a short story of about 500 words. Same as last year, I think they will all be linked to my Amsterdam by Night setting. Giving some insight in the kindred of Amsterdam.

With January coming to an end, so does the #36WordRPGJam. This year, the collection ended up having 5 games. If you tried them out, please let me know what you think.

Our spin-off chronicle for Amsterdam by Night / Vampire: the Masquerade ended with an unexpected blood bond, a marriage in pieces, and a Lasombra who vowed to destroy her Hecata husband. When players, story, and roleplay click, TTRPGs can so intense and mindblowing at the same time.

TTRPGs this week: - running part 2 of our Vampire: the Masquerade / Amsterdam by Night spin-off mini chronicle - playing Delta Green: Impossible Landscapes - running the first season of Amsterdam by Night 2.0 in an IRL session 😁 So excited to play at the table again with my lovely kindred.

One of the articles in the first edition of Kennisdomein, is a stroll through the woods in which you encounter vaesen, by yours truly. It was an honor to work with the team of Kennisdomein, and I cannot wait for the second edition.

O my, I love TTRPGs!! And Vampire: the Masquerade in particular! Tonight, we ran part 1 of a mini chronicle in which we continue the storyline of 2 beloved NPCs from Amsterdam by Night. The players brought everything to the table: drama, intrigue, intense IC conversations. Part 2: next Thursday.

I've added 3 new games to the 36-word RPG collection. 'Spoons' draws its inspiration from one of my favorite movies. 'Ritual' draws out my dark side. And 'Childhood Home' is a callback to one of my favorite Call of Cthulhu scenarios I wrote. sandra-catharin.itch.io/36-word-rpgs

#TTRPGs this week: - playing Vampire: the Requiem - playing Delta Green - running Vampire: the Masquerade - writing 36-word RPGs

I didn't know if I would have the time/energy to participate this year, but I've started my submission for the #36WordRPGJam. There are 2 games in there now, but hopefully I will be able to create a couple more before the end of the month. sandra-catharin.itch.io/36-word-rpgs

Yesterday, we had the second part of our session 0 to establish the coterie type and relationship map for Amsterdam by Night 2.0 (Vampire: the Masquerade V5). It’s going to be an Anarch chronicle with a Minister, a Hecata, a Malkavian and a Ravnos. Let’s see how long they can uphold their tenets.

Last year, I participated in the 24-word RPG jam. I created a small collection of 7 games of exactly 24 words each during the month of January. This year, the challenge is 36 words. Let’s see how many we can come up with this month during the #36WordRPGJam.

Happy New Year/Gelukkig nieuwjaar ✨ 2024 has been a challenging year for me on all fronts, but now I’m ready for this new beginning. Here’s to the friends, games and amazing memories we get to create in 2025!
