Interesting - murine data shows that TSLP can also act on Tregs and thereby limit T2 inflammation www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... #ImmunoSky #Immunology

ANNOUNCEMENT: It is that time of the year when I start filling the guest list for @einstein_agogo on @3RRRFM. Last year we had some 150 guests from all areas of research. So if you are interested, DM me the details! PhD students and ECR/MCRs most welcome! Must be Melbourne based.

What immune (gene) pathways and cells are involved in retraining the body from active food allergy to remission (clinical unresponsiveness to allergen) during oral immunotherapy? For your reading pleasure, I present a review of the literature answering this question in patient derived samples:

Precursors of exhausted T cells are preemptively formed in acute infection At that stage early precursors show diversity; memory T cells but also cells with a phenotype, gene-expression, and epigenetic profile that resembles precursors of exhausted T cells. #ImmunoSky www.nature.com/artic... 1/3

We are here 🦋. Save the date for Oz Single Cell 2025, 23-25 May in Sydney

How to do differential expression with scRNAseq data? State of the art is "pseudo-bulk" analysis with RNA-seq methods like edgeR or DESeq2, where "cell type" is encoded as discrete categories. Biologically, discrete categories are not always the most appropriate concept.(1/3) doi.org/10.1038/s415...

Elegant work by Jason Cyster's group "Our study demonstrates that the canonical chemoattractant receptor-ligand systems well-established for lymphocyte homeostatic trafficking to LNs are no longer the major contributors in the inflamed setting." #ImmunoSky

In the 20 years since the term “microplastics” was first coined, a growing body of research has consistently shown how pervasive and problematic the pollutants have become. A recent #ScienceReview provides an overview and the progress made in understanding #microplastics.
