Many say otherwise, but whenever I get a human being on the phone when I call my government reps, I ask if email has less impact than a phone call. They ALWAYS say it has the same impact and gets logged the same. Just a data point. Contact your reps, don't let perfect be the enemy of democracy.

Please remember that the ability to boycott can often be a privilege. Some folks are too poor to shop anywhere more expensive. Some folks don't have transportation, or are disabled, and can only shop places that offer delivery and can't afford to pay the fees for things like instacart/etc

If you used to work but now can’t due to disability, it’s not necessary to qualify the fact you’re claiming benefits with “I paid into the system all my life”. That feeds into the rhetoric that those who didn’t “pay in” through employment are somehow less deserving.
