On a call today with EDs from orgs like @thestreettrust.org from Boston to San Diego, we heard stories how people who can't or don't drive are at increased risk from ICE - in bike lanes, on sidewalks, at bus stops, the "first, worst" harm principle applies to our already most vulnerable travelers.

my goodness. someone on new york ave was killed by a driver hauling a tank post-army parade. a woman literally died for this useless excess.

I’m holding a town hall meeting today, June 17, in Hillsboro. Doors open at 5 and the meeting begins at 6. Please do not bring large bags or backpacks.  I look forward to hearing your ideas and questions.

Right wing extremists kidnap mayoral candidate in USA's largest city.

One of my most frustrating ongoing debates is w/ EV proponents. My position is that motor vehicle traffic is too costly (in infrastructure & in lives) for me to support EV subsidies. Compact walkable neighborhoods connected by great transit, active transpo + TDM pgms yield more bang for the buck.

Unlike the gas pump, this tech also allows us to carve out segments of users for discounts (ex. veterans, Tribes, seniors, rural zip codes) and apply congestion & infrastructure surcharges (ex. I-5, a MultCo fee for Burnside Bridge, etc.). HB2025 is a step in right direction, we should go faster.

Don't let your emotions get the best of you, Portland. "[E]motional undercurrents frequently at play in sports stadium funding debates across the country.... Experts nearly unanimously agree that public subsidies for stadiums are a poor investment."

It’s not hyperbole to say that the deaths in Minnesota are on the GOP’s hands. They’ve built this political environment and they’ve allowed a demagogue to spread hate. This is entirely on them.

It's the smaller, redder, protests that need the most attention.

@natsfert.bsky.social for @politico.com's angle here that PPB "has changed" is already debunked. "[Portland] police department will not assist ICE, [PPB Chief Bob] Day explained...." PPB 💯 will gas, assault, detain local protesters. PPB 💯 will abet ICE & the feds. www.politico.com/news/2025/06...

As much as I love seeing peaceful protests all day, dislike seeing local law enforcement escalating and/or siding w Feds. Why should Portland taxpayers foot the bill to protect an ICE facility? Majority of our voters oppose Trump/ICE. PPB better off over at Mirabella keeping an eye on the seniors.

It's kinda crazy to remember that the mass protests today got their start (and name) from a tweet about congestion pricing

Portland, Oregon #NoKings

Our parade was better than his parade.

This assassination makes the Minnesota house even. I'm waiting for the first Republican Minnesota state legislator to commit to sit out votes until Rep. Hortman is replaced - otherwise Republicans are hugely benefiting from and complicit in this sort of political violence.

It's funny right now, but when the tyrant-in-chief's feelings get hurt, volatility and violence follow.

Man I’m not criticizing anyone who gets their ass up and marches around for something good, I don’t care if they’ve got a sign like “Domuld Drumpf hope u like Hamberders” they bought markers for that shit good for them

The most Los Angeles sign ever. And it’s true.

Let's get out there, stand together and protect each other. *We* are this country. That's the important thing
