I mean, does anyone ever really know what they’re doing?

Just watched a video of a panda bear falling over backwards in a chair and I thought that was the clearest depiction of my week I’d seen today.

Today we have… a loaf of Parmesan sourdough. I need to slow my roll a little bit, because I’m going to end up freezing a lot of bread, but I’m having fun learning a new thing. This is the third loaf I’ve ever baked and it freaking delights me.

It’s a beautiful sunny spring day, beautiful weather. Fresh air coming in the windows til - Ope! They just put manure down at the farm down the road. Now the air is fresh if you like the smell of rotting fish and hot garbage.

Can I just post sourdough pictures? Is that allowed? Second time making sourdough. I forgot a step toward the end because my dumb ass is like, “I’ve made one, I don’t need to look at the recipe!” I remembered the skipped step a half hour later while I was on a walk.

I made this! Gonna be even more insufferable about bread now!

On Fridays, I used to make lists of things that made me happy that week as a way to remind myself of how much is still so beautiful. I think 2025 is gonna force me to revisit that habit because of *gestures in misinformation and hate and lies* all this.

Even the emotional support Cinnamon Toast Crunch is hardly working anymore

Grief can be weird. This year, I wasn’t undone by facebook’s reminder of my brother and I have been fb friends for 11 years. Since his death, I don’t always know how these sort of things will hit. Mostly, I saw the reminder and thought, “Oh hello. So nice to see your face on my timeline today.”

It’s early in the season which is why I forgot to bring snacks to the basement when the tornado warning went off.

My Rep is a tremendous nitwit who doesn’t make good decisions with his vote, but I do appreciate that his staffers are always nice to me when I call. Today’s call was budget related, including an ask to vote No on the continuing resolution that includes critical cuts to med research funding.

I keep seeing everyone post about supporting libraries and I WOULD LOVE TO, but the one near me is open only 12 inconvenient hours per week. The next closest system won’t give me a card because I’m not in their service area. Do people share library cards like Netflix passwords?

“Heeeey calling to demand you oppose the House Budget Committee’s budget resolution because I’ve been living here over 20 years and I can promise none of your constituents are billionaires so maybe vote to help us little people, instead?”

Whuuuut

This is just making me realize how off the color on my tv is unless eagles green is actually more like a teal blue

Interesting to watch a sportsball and not really care at all who does the things.

Please let me just enjoy Jon Batiste without showing that orange ruiner of things.

Not me wrapping up a voice mail to my senator by saying, “Thanks so much, I’m sure I’ll be calling you about something else tomorrow!”

Laying on the couch post-surgery and still calling my elected officials. At least their mailboxes are open today. And yes, I’ve waited til the anesthesia wore off.

Michigan senators’ mailboxes are full and the bro answering the phone at my congressperson’s office actually told me at the end of my request, to “have a good one.” Dude, none of us are having a good one.

Today, I got to order food for my college kid who’s on the other side of the state, for her to pick up before a meeting when she didn’t have time to hit the dining hall. I underestimated how much being able to provide little acts of care for my kids would mean to me as an empty nester.

My weather app told me my head would hurt and my head hurts. Why are they better at forecasting headaches than snow and rain?
