Bears repeating that social security is incredibly INCREDIBLY efficient to run. Its overhead costs are basically zero when you consider the size of the undertaking and the genuine benefits delivered. If anyone was interested in improving govt efficiency, the SSA would be their model not their target

NOAA is an absolute mess, and it’ll be worse tomorrow. Please help us. There have already been over 1,000 terminations. It’s not just layoffs—Elon Musk and his staffers are trying to completely dismantle us. Today, there were tons of firings, and more are coming tomorrow.

There's a concept in art history called kunstwollen or "will to art" introduced by Alois Riegel, who was a late 19th century Austrian art historian. It is often used to explain why certain motifs appear at certain times in history.
