It is no secret volunteers are a core part of the ACS (truly these people move mountains). The ACS Leadership Institute helps ACS members strengthen skills and prepare for volunteer roles within the society.

A useful article about how face-to-face encounters and personal connections can combat misinformation. As also espoused by @katharinehayhoe.com!

đź‘‹ Hi #chemsky, this article (cen.acs.org/acs-news/gov...) had a lot of views yesterday! I'm happy to see the engagement, and thought it might be useful to highlight some facts from the article since I was able to ask a lot of questions; and facts and context feel useful when chaos is happening.

Some end of January pieces out of ACS News in @cenmag.bsky.social: 🔹 Volunteer Voices: Joseph Houck chats about the chemistry olympiad (cen.acs.org/people/Volun...)

#Chemsky - Do you have a chemical romance? @cenmag.bsky.social's Prachi Patel is looking for couples in chemistry for an upcoming #Newscripts column. Reach out to her at [email protected] if you're willing to chat with her about the chemistry behind your romance and what you bond on.

The end of one year and the beginning of the next can be some of the more quiet reflective times of the year. The ACS News section in @cenmag.bsky.social for December and our first issue of January had lots of reflection and lots of looking forward. Check it out: #chemsky #science #sciencenews

California #ChemSky folks! How are you being affected by the #CAFires? Did you have to evacuate? Lots of chem labs are near fires and evac zones. Are you still going into work? Reach me by DM, email ([email protected]) or Signal (kvasquez.12).
