Who is the person responsible for the #Federal registry freeze? Where is the hold up? @schiff.senate.gov ? @sarajacobs.house.gov? @murray.senate.gov ? @alexpadilla4ca.bsky.social ?

As a CZI grant recipient, this is quite disappointing

I have work to do but I'm distracted by watching US scientific progress & leadership being irreversibly undermined because a few unelected malcontents are penalizing researchers for following legal requirements set out by congressional orders to augment basic research with benefits to society.

Registration is OPEN for the 2025 QuPath Training Course on Feb 24-25 and an Advanced Users Meeting on Feb 26 at @lji.org . The year, the focus will be on Multiplex Immunofluorescence analysis. Hosted by Zbigniew Mikulski, @iamichaelnelson.bsky.social , and myself.

Join us! In two days we will teach you how to analyze complex immunofluorescence multiplex data. It will take you weeks to months to learn this on your own!

Highly recommend that anyone interested in learning A LOT about microscopy apply! The instructors are fantastic!

📢Announcing a QuPath Workshop 📢 February 24-25, 2025, in San Diego, CA, at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology. This year’s event will be all about Multiplex Immunofluorescence Analysis. The workshop will be followed by an 🎉 Advanced QuPath User’s Meeting 🎉- February 26, 2025.

10x Genomics claims that the Xenium provides sub-30nm resolution for single molecule RNA detection. I can’t find any data to back up their claim, or even any technical specs on their optics. Has anyone here had any experience with this machine, or similar, and tested the spatial resolution?

We tried this demo to explain fluorescence on Friday and it's exactly as impressive as in this video!

We are so excited that @janfunkey.bsky.social has agreed to give the keynote seminar for @qiatcshl.bsky.social 2025 @cshlnews.bsky.social! 🔬🖥️ 🛤️ Applications due 1/31/2025. t.co/x87ngy34UC

Happy #MicroscopyMonday! The recordings of the #Virtual #I2K2024 workshops are available now tinyurl.com/VirtualI2K20... Thanks to all who presented! Please re-share! 2022 and 2023 content available too: www.youtube.com/@I2KConference

Feels like a good time to put this back in the timeline youtu.be/jPCJIB1f7jk?...

Absolutely fascinating keynote by Helen Berman about starting the Protein Data Bank, before any of the tools we take for granted today... like keyboards or the internet #ImagingTheFuture

Made a starter pack for microscopy and image analysis - please (self-)nominate additions! go.bsky.app/Nwa91pC

The world is scary right now, so I'm going to spend today analyzing pretty images and not thinking too hard about what it means that half the country voted for fascism

Have you ever analyzed a #microscope image before- even just a single one? Please take our survey on progress and places to still improve for image analysis software! #microscopy #imageanalysis #bioimageanalysis forum.image.sc/t/2024-image...

Consult your friendly, neighborhood bioimage analyst before your next experiment! This paper discusses all that we do for scientific research, how we can do more, and how we can convince admins and grant agencies to fund us better.

You can still register for remote attendance to the Multiplex Image Analysis workshop, gifted by QBI

Again, there were countless ways for the administration to calm things down but they chose to escalate it every step of the way. And now they’ve bringing cops in riot gear to clear out their own students. Make no mistake: If someone gets hurt, it is absolutely entirely on them.

this woman should be run out of town and never hold a job with any sort of authority ever again

As a Columbia alum, this is shocking and absolutely unacceptable. Whoever in the administration asked for this should be forced to resign immediately.

As a Columbia University alum, I'm incredibly disappointed in the recent actions of the administration. Arresting students who are peacefully protesting is contrary to the free speech values the university used to uphold. www.columbiaspectator.com/news/2024/04...
