Unlike the white #ibis, often nicknamed "bin chickens" in Australia, straw-necked ibises are generally more reserved and tend to avoid humans. They migrate in response to changing water availability and food sources. #birds #aussieBirds #australianBirds #nature #naturePhotography #Australia

Eastern #rosella are closely related to the crimson rosella that often feature on my page. Eastern and crimson rosellas can interbreed, creating hybrid rosellas with unique colouration. The guy in this pic is your standard/classic eastern Rosella. #birds #aussieBirds #nature #naturePhotography

#Galahs are monogamous and usually mate for life. They nest in tree hollows, and both parents are actively involved in incubating and feeding chicks. #birds #australianBirds #birbs #nature #naturePhotography #nikon

Each autumn, tens of thousands of Yellow-faced #Honeyeaters migrate north from south eastern Australia, forming huge flocks often described as “rivers” of birds flowing past for hours. #birds #aussieBirds #australianBirds #nature #naturePhotography #birds

That feeling of being watched... #birds #nature #naturePhotography #Australian #australianBirds #aussieBirds

Grey #fantail taking flight. Their fan shaped tail helps them make sharp, acrobatic turns mid-flight, as they chase down insects. #birds #aussiBirds #AustralianBirds #nature #naturePhotography #Australia

Australian #magpie keeping watch. They can remember human faces for years. #australia #australianBirds #aussieBirds #birds #nature #naturePhotography #wildBirds

Eastern #quoll running/bounding. A mob of Noisy Mynas was chasing it away (unfortunately, I didn't manage to capture the birds in the photos). #marsupial #australia #nature #naturePhotography #animals #australinaAnimals

Wild short nosed #echidna taking a stroll. Those huge claws are used to dig into ant nests and for burrowing. If you look closely, you can see that the hind claws point backwards, which helps them groom their spiny coats. #nature #naturePhotography #australia #marsupial #animals

Noisy Myna are common in woodlands, urban parks and gardens. They live in colonies and tend to be aggressive and territorial. #birds #aussieBirds #nature #naturePhotography #australia

Noisy Myna form cooperative “mobbing” squads to aggressively drive off predators. I saw them drive off a quoll this way (unfortunately I didn't capture the drama, but I did get shots of the quoll :). #nature #birds #aussieBirds #wildBirds #naturePhotography #australia

Some bunny love in time for #Easter. #rabbit #bunny #rexRabbit

An Eastern Quoll. My first ever sighting in the wild. #quolls are nocturnal #marsupials who feed at night, so I was very surprised and grateful to get a daylight glimpse. #nature #wildAnimals #naturePhotography #Australia #animals #wild

#Weebills are Australia's smallest bird (about 8 -9 cm long). They weave their nests from spiderwebs, feathers and soft plant material. #birds #aussieBirds #naturePhotography #nature #wildBirds

#silverEyes are tiny, fast moving songbirds. They feed on nectar, fruits, insects, and small invertebrates and often migrate from Tasmania to the mainland during winter. These little guys were enjoying my plum tree. #birds #aussieBirds #australianBirds #songBird #nature #naturePhotography

The pretty colours of the #crestedPidgeon Love the sound they make when they fly :) #nature #birds #birdPhotography #aussieBirds #australia

Derpy looking #littleCorella strutting through the grass. #nature #naturePhotography #australia #birds #aussieBirds #australianBirds #nikon

#Butcherbirds are carnivorous, feasting on insects, small birds, reptiles and rodents. They get their name from the way they often impale their prey on twigs, thorns and branches - using them like a meat hook (and sometimes for storage like a gnarly pantry of sorts). #birds #aussieBirds #nature

Just having a preen. #crimsonRosella #birds #aussieBirds #australia #naturePhotography #wildBirds

Despite their innocent facade, #cockatoos are a lovable menace who take delight in destorying everything they possibly can. #birds #parrots #wildBirds #nature #naturePhotography #aussiBirds

The neighbourhood #rosellas know that if they can get my attention, i will give them some seed. Unfortunately, on this occasion, I had run out. Contains audio #natureVideo #birds #AussieBirds #Australia #parrot

Double trouble. This is the first time that my yard has been visited by Little Corellas. I think they're adorable and hope they enjoyed their stay and come again. #birds #aussieBirds #parrots #littleCorellas #wildBirds #naturePhotography

Just 2 Sulphur Crested #cockatoos grazing in the grass. #parrot #bird #aussieBirds #naturePhotography #australia

This big fella popped up out of the bushes to say g'day. He was only about a meter away, scared the daylights out of me. I love the way he is casually munching on a chunk of grass. #kangaroo #australia #nature #wildAnimals #naturephotohraphy

I think this is a European Greenfinch doing a little dance. #birds #ausseBirds #nature #naturePhitography #wildBirds

Cute little bird :)

Little Willie Wagtail (yes, that's it's common name :). I love these guys, their tails never stop moving - brushing from side to side to dislodge insects (hence their name) #birds #aussieBirds #australia #waillyWagTail #nature #wildBirds #naturePHotography

Beautiful

Lyrebirds are amazing mimics. They memorise and incorporate the sounds they hear into their mating song. In the modern world, this sadly but unsurprisingly includes chainsaws and car alarms.
