Happy National Poetry Month, from Lolcat, TS Eliot, and me.

There’s a very particular joy that comes from realizing, oh, it’s Friday night and I’m going to bed and I don’t have to set an alarm! I’d imagine there’s a word for that in German.

I’ve got my windows open, what with it being delightfully spring-like, which means I hear more random Franklin and Hennepin noise than usual. I just heard some dude yell, “FUCK YOU!” to which I reflexively replied, “Yes! Fuck you, too!” He didn’t hear me, but I had a good giggle. #ComingToAmerica

Now I remember why I’ve always had that kind of “I know it would be a bad idea, buuuut…I’d do it anyway” crush on Christopher Walken. #Severance, #CreepySexy

Drummond: Didn’t you get that memo? Milchik: No, it’s…I got the memo, I just use too many big words, and…it’s not a problem, because I’ll make sure to minimize my vocabulary, so… Drummond: Yeaaaahhhh, I’m just gonna…go ahead and…send you that memo again. #Severance, #TPSReports

For the remainder of my life, I mean to use the term “spilling lineage” in lieu of any other euphemism for jerkin’ it. #Severance

Oops 😬

“Marshmallows are for team players, DYLAN!”

I want to adopt Irving and Burt as my dads. #Severance

I mean…

YES, I was right: Mr. Drummond is played by Icelandic giant Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, who you may remember from such roles as Maria Bamford’s boyfriend/husband on Lady Dynamite and Dewal the Naked Meth Cook on True Detective. #Severance, #EsteemedCharacterActors

“The difference between man and machine is that machines cannot think for themselves. Also, they are made of metal, whereas man is made of skin.” Ricken Hale? Or Jack Handey? #Severance

Alzheimer’s has a particular kind of cruelty. I hate it.

I strongly suggest that everyone screenshot this.

I just started reading Fahrenheit 451 (because apparently I can’t get enough dystopian speculative fiction, I DON’T KNOW WHY), and the goddamn introduction is written by Neil fucking Gaiman. So that’s just…ugh.

Tonight is a good night I think for eating roasted romanesco and baked scallops and watching Severance!

Lunch hour companion Emily:

Sailor Ben has issues.

“Thatcher believed in laissez faire economics, which is French for something, and then English again with economics.” - Philomena Cunk

Oh, snap, words cannot express how delighted I am that Severance is back!

Hello there, people of Bluesky!
