There's going to be news about a woman illegally detained and being forcely removed from a Coeur d'Alene Idaho Town Hall meeting taking place at the high school by men that would not identify themselves wearing plain clothes because she opposed the republican viewpoints. youtube.com/shorts/hhJdH...

Love how he just concedes this as a matter of fact, like he's a passive observer

NEW — The National Treasury Employees Union Chapter 282 just emailed its ~8,000 employee members strongly advising them NOT to reply to the “What did you do last week?” email from OPM/Musk.

This is straight out of the Putin playbook. Consolidate all power under a handful of psychopathic loyalists, dissolve any independent oversight...

“In some ways that’s even more chilling than firing the four stars,” Rosa Brooks, a professor at Georgetown Law. “It’s what you do when you’re planning to break the law: you get rid of any lawyers who might try to slow you down.” By NYT Greg Jaffe www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/u...

If I had to respond to an email as a federal employee asking me what I did at work last week, I'd make sure to list all the duties I had to absorb because of mass illegal firings, followed by a description of what the EPA's Walter Peck did in Ghostbusters.

Sharing more townhall videos today because they’re giving me hope. THIS is good trouble! Who is this man? I want to shake his hand and buy him a drink.

musk's private security deputized by u.s. marshals service -- potentially clearing the way for his personal bodyguards to be carrying weapons on federal grounds. um... www.cnn.com/2025/02/20/p...

👀

The order to email Elon Musk five things you did last week or else you’re fired appears to be illegal. More here.

Last night's Pentagon massacre is much more than realized. Not just firing the black CJCS and first woman CNO but all the senior JAG officers and hiring a man who just joined 3 different crypto firms tied to Kushner and Thiel as Chairman. I did a deep dive into it open.substack.com/pub/fpwellma...

What a shame. Teamsters deserve better than this.

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

DOGE cuts hit Social Security in the places “where people access government.” Always read Eli Hager.

So rather than Washington under Biden nationalizing Starlink, we have Starlink under Musk privatizing Washington.

Today, I called all my state representatives . I'm tired and stressed for tonight 😵‍💫 Monday, I will be calling my state senators . Healthcare, they are coming after it and we must fight for it. #DontCutMyMedicaid

These people all have actual conflicts of interest that should keep them from working on any investigations like this. It's a measure of how tainted and corrupt this Justice Department is becoming and it breaks my heart. I hope it doesn't break our country. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Is Trump KGB story fact or fiction? Trump KGB story rapidly disappearing online per Daily Kos: www.dailykos.com/stories/2025...

DOGE engineer Edward Coristine, 19, is the grandson of a notorious KGB spy.

Old but relevant! Donald Trump was cultivated as a Russian asset over 40 years and proved so willing to parrot anti-western propaganda that there were celebrations in Moscow, a former KGB spy has told the Guardian. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021...

"During the meeting, Ukraine was told it faced imminent shutoff of the Starlink service if it did not reach a deal on critical minerals, said the source, who requested anonymity to discuss closed negotiations." Astonishing betrayal of an ally. www.reuters.com/business/us-...

How many paragraphs do you think @apnews.com writes before mentioning that the white 3-Star General Trump plans to install (after firing the Black 4-Star Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) isn't even legally eligible for the job? apnews.com/article/trum...

Democrats are fundamentally misunderstanding the moment: We're not asking them to be *legislators* right now. We need them to be *politicians.* There's nothing to be done about the legislative situation. They're right about that. But there's PLENTY to be done as politicians.

Let's be clear: CQ Brown was fired because Trump and Hegseth couldn't see past his skin color. General Brown has 40 years of distinguished service. Trump and Hegseth just want yes men who look like them. This is destabilizing for our nation.

Sure Trump fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the CNO....but they fired the top JAG's in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Why would you fire the top lawyers in the armed services at night on a Friday? That's the part you should be freaking out about.

It's pretty cool that Eater put together resources for restaurants about how to handle ICE raids

I've said often, based on history, that there's no reasonable expectation most people will be courageous in the face of fascism. Bravery is rare. It's valued for a reason: Most people aren't cut out for it, for reasons good and bad. But man, you'd still sorta hope the ABA woulda held the line.

If you know any military leaders — from junior NCOs to 4-star generals — probably a good time to reinforce the idea with them that their oath is to the Constitution, not the President, and certainly not the Secretary of Defense.

More CFPB news: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's employees have been told that the bureau's Washington HQ lease is cancelled and the agency has 30 days to vacate the building www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

Here’s what is going on. When you start firing the military’s top lawyers, that means you are getting ready to order the military to do unlawful things. Trump replaces those JAGs with men who will justify any future unlawful and unethical actions that he wants the military to do.

Again: tech journalism is meeting this moment in a way the mainstream establishment newspapers and cable channels just aren’t. I can’t emphasize enough what a big deal this is.

Sadly, with these blatantly political firings, every single general and flag officer nominee going forward must be asked publicly under oath by SASC what sort of loyalty oaths, if any, they swore to the Administration.

See, Pete is lying here. Army officers are specifically trained to recognize and prevent war crimes. When I was at the infantry officer basic course, we literally watched part of a documentary about My Lai as an example of what not to do.

I wrote about how particularly ridiculous it is that Senate Democrats, led by Dick Durbin, think the priority should be repealing Section 230 and undermining the very open internet we need more than ever right now. www.techdirt.com/2025/02/21/w...

My mother's life was prolonged by an organ donor. It's such an important process that touches so many people. Yet the current government is firing people who aim to make it more efficient so it can save more lives. www.propublica.org/article/trum...
