How does anyone justify this? Seriously, how?

Senate Republicans have lost their spines—all they do is bow down to Donald Trump and his billionaire donors. They know this bill will kill people. And they just look the other way.

I think it’s worth reminding people that Mamdani never used the phrase “Globalize the Intifada” nor did he advocate for it, he merely pointed out (correctly) that the word has many historical connotations and that Arab words are routinely portrayed as scary terrorist language.

Kneecap is not the story. Genocide in Gaza is.

Video shows a Palestinian on a bicycle trying to escape falling debris caused by an Israeli air strike on a residential building in the Abu Iskandar area in northern Gaza.

Survivors of the Nuseirat massacre in Gaza hold the US and UK responsible, saying that surveillance planes which filled the skies over the camp in the days leading up to the operation may have been “British and American eyes directing the fire from above.” www.declassifieduk.org/in-gaza-surv...

The biggest crises hide in plain sight: “The cuts made by Donald Trump and Elon Musk to the USA’s overseas aid have already claimed an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 lives across the world – six to 10 times the death toll of Gaza – and get a fraction of the attention of Trump’s day-to-day chaos.”

US president’s claim greeted with surprise as deaths spiral in Gaza and Israeli forces accused of more ‘war crimes’.

hey remember when a rich ceo died then when they caught the suspect they made a circus of it like they found osama bin laden and charged him with terrorism but less than weeks ago two democrat lawmakers and their spouses were shot as literal assassination to shift control and everyone already forgot

Spot on. This is the clearest explanation I’ve seen. It ‘s relatable, and humanizes the issue in a way everyone can understand.

Things are bad over there, getting worse.

And then this shit just came out. When you’re making over $700k a year, gaining $12k is nothing. It’s a nice vacation, redoing the garage, giving a niece/nephew a car. When you’re making $23k a year, losing $1600 is “are we paying for food or for the house or for medical bills” territory.

Beloit, WI revitalized its waterfront and chose this way to celebrate it: by bringing to life Georges Seurat's "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte."

A 16yo teen saved his friend from the rubble after a russian missile hit their school in Odesa region. Mark Avetikian, though injured himself, dug his friend Maksym out with bare hands. Mark is a student and a boxing champion. Both boys are now in hospital. Let's wish them a speedy recovery Sho_Tam_

BREAKING: The White House lashed out at the creators of this ad for "fear-mongering". It must have really struck a nerve. Maybe they don't like being outed as fascists. You know what to do: SPREAD THIS EVERYWHERE! #MAGAKidnappers

This is absolutely insane.

these are concentration camps and none of us can pretend we don’t know it.

Congrats! Trump’s (illegal) air strikes on Iran energized and empowered the most hardline, nationalistic, anti-western, and belligerent folks in Iran.

NEW: While mainstream news goes wall-to-wall on a performative Iranian attack that harmed no-one, Israeli forces have shot dead another 33 starving Palestinians queuing for food. Aid as bait, death by firing squad. Posting this here because I’m fucking sure you won’t see it elsewhere.

If you’re an American should watch the Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown ep on Iran. A deeply humanizing look at a country full of people just like you and me. I watched it after Anthony died and it moved in ways that are hard to relay. I also immediately ran out to try kabob koobideh and tahdig.

The cynical words of an old law professor seem again apt, sadly. Domestic law is a matter of law. Foreign laws are a matter of expert evidence. International law is a matter of fiction.

In grim "there's always a tweet" news.

They’re going to try to make you feel insane for opposing this war. They’ll ignore protests and downplay any opposition. They’ll try to strongarm you into submission. They did it with Iraq and they’ll do it again. And then a few years later they’ll pretend they were with you all along.

Iran did not have a nuclear weapon. Iran did not have a nuclear weapon. Iran did not have a nuclear weapon. Iran did not have a nuclear weapon. Iran did not have a nuclear weapon. Iran did not have a nuclear weapon. Iran did not have a nuclear weapon. Iran did not have a nuclear weapon.

There will be many consequences of Trump’s bombing of Iran. Gravest amongst them is that the war crime of the 21st century - currently unfolding in Gaza - will continue to be erased from the airwaves. Historically shameful.

I worry that escalating war with Iran will be used to whip up more fear and hate for non-white immigrants, particularly those of Arab descent, and be used for unjust deportations.

I hate the way Iran treats its women. But a country that kept a brain dead woman alive to force her to give birth, and forced her family to pay for it all against their wishes, hardly has a leg to stand on. We treat women like beasts of burden and take away their agency right here. So…🤷🏽‍♀️

Please stop saying that AI is 'the next internet'. It is an argument with no substance at all and makes you look ridiculous. The moment anyone says that, I can replace every time they said 'AI' with: 1. 'VR' for 2013 2. 'Crypto' for 2016 3. 'Web3' for 2019 4. 'Metaverse' for 2020 5. 'NFT' for 2021

Lemme get this straight: the only country in the Middle East to have nukes and the only country to ever use nukes on civilians are bombing another country to stop it getting nukes, even though their own intel shows it's not trying to get nukes. Is that about right?
