No, sorry NYT, the correct headline is TRUMP EXTORTS UKRAINE FOR MINERAL CONCESSIONS; REFUSES TO OFFER SECURITY GUARANTEES

Honestly, I think that is part of the point of all this. Look at what has been happening in plain sight in states with abortion bans for the last few years now. They really don’t care if women die.

We are witnessing the wholesale destruction of our public health infrastructure and monitoring systems. This administration is profoundly and deliberately anti-life.

Great statement from @plos.org

The court continues to make clear in our case against the US government that defying the temporary restraining order on the foreign aid freeze is unlawful. Read more: www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202... www.politico.com/news/2025/02... www.devex.com/news/court-e...

"The rate of maternal deaths in Texas rose 33% between 2019 and 2023 even as the national rate fell by 7.5%"

I don't know, y'all. It seems like it's time for the G7 to become the G6. Kick the US out of the club, in the same way that Russia was kicked out years ago. Or you know, just get rid of the G7 altogether in favor of the G20 (which the US, conveniently, is no longer participating in).

“After we’ve discriminated against, deported, or disparaged all the immigrants, the gay and lesbian and transgender people, the developmentally disabled, the women, and minorities. Once we’ve ostracized our neighbors and betrayed our friends… what comes next?” - Gov. JB Pritzker

$21 million to UN Women for programs to end violence against women and girls, support women's livelihoods, and in Afghanistan, defend women's rights. $10 million to Chemonics to prevent and end gender-based violence. Programs to support education for kids in conflict-affected areas.

Can I scream for a minute about how when it comes to gender and health we're stuck in an endless loop: people don't want to invest in things because there's limited evidence, but there's limited evidence because we won't invest in things. See how that works?

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Fetal Personhood is about more than abortion, It's about pregnancy criminalization too! Check out our new fact sheet on Fetal Personhood: whonotwhen.com/s/Fetal-Pers...

One of the first websites that this "notice" went up on was one encouraging researchers to include women in clinical trials. This is not, and never has been just a war on transgender people. It's also a war on women. And the feminists who threw trans people under the bus are complicit.

Happy Valentine's Day to @asia-ilse.bsky.social of Health GAP and all the other HIV activists standing up against fascism.

🚨 Breaking 🚨 @secrubio.bsky.social's *entire* deadly freeze on @PEPFAR and all foreign aid has been halted in court www.politico.com/news/2025/02... Our fight is far from over; but here is a thread about this step forward and what comes next >> 🧵

I feel like people don’t understand how bad this abortion fight is about to get or how far into poverty a forced pregnancy can sink a person. What will end up happening is using low income people as breeders to provide children for white evangelicals. That domestic supply of infants.

🚨Major victory🚨Judge just issued temp restraining order reversing the aid freeze at #USAID, State, and rest of USG. huge. Clear win, judge says programs must be reopened during the review… as we’ve been arguing judge agrees it is contrary to law on multiple levels. bravo to…

Pepfar saves lives

As @gregggonsalves.bsky.social so eloquently says: "Over the next few years, Americans who hope for something better will have to go toe-to-toe with this administration, at all levels of government..." We can't give up. We organize. We fight back.

This National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, TAG stands with global Black communities who will be harmed by the ongoing PEPFAR freeze. #NBHAAD

🧵"So this is how liberty dies..." Trump’s first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up. I’ve gone through 69 actions & mapped out the pattern - showing how they fall within 5 broad domains consistent with authoritarian states 1/9

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was confirmed to lead the Department of Health & Human Services. The U.S. Senate has betrayed the American people, approving a dangerous conspiracy theorist with no scientific training who is obsessed with unfounded health claims to be our nation’s voice on public health.

Today is feeling really extremely overwhelming

It is not an unintended consequence that millions of women who changed their name upon marriage would be disenfranchised. The right have become increasingly vocal about their desire to roll back women's voting rights, especially those of married women who might dare defy their husbands.

“Beyond the incorrect claim that science backs up a simple binary definition of sex, the lived experience of people clearly demonstrates that the genetic composition at conception does not define one's identity. Rather, sex and gender result from the interplay of genetics and environment.”

Everything that Martin says: "We must say, loudly and consistently, that what is happening is entirely unacceptable. Our ethical obligations do not vary according to the whims of politicians."

Not going to lie, finding it increasingly difficult to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Not sure there is an end of the tunnel. Thinking we may be in darkness for a very long time.

PrEP4All's frequent collaborator @hivpxresearch.bsky.social is lodging a federal lawsuit against the new US Presidential Administration “seeking emergency relief from the freeze on funding for foreign assistance”. Read More: www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

Not confirmed yet, but The DHS Program, which has operated for 40+ years collecting data in over 90+ countries and is the primary source of data for monitoring global health, is on the list of contracts to be cut. This is devastating on so many levels.

Keep this in mind, especially now.

Folks are shocked that their institutions, after professing commitments to climate justice and DEI, are now caving to Trump and scrubbing all references. It's brutal. And it's the smallest taste of what our students felt when their universities called in the cops b/c they protested a genocide.

So let's talk about "gender ideology." The term originates from the Holy See and Catholic scholars, who saw the term "gender," which recognizes roles, norms and behaviors, ascribed to people based on their sex are socially constructed rather than biologically determined, as a threat to tradition.
