We've been having lots of weather moving through central New Jersey. Fast moving and fast melting snow to sleet to rain. These photos of Northern Cardinals were taken several years ago after a heavy ice storm. © Sandra Blair #birds #photography #winter #cardinal

I’ve only seen Violet-green Swallows once in a wetland in western Washington state and this is one of the few photos I captured of them. Their colors are breathtaking in the sunlight and you can easily see how they got their name. © Sandra Blair #birds #photography #birdphotography #nature #wildlife

This is one of my favorite Great Egret in breeding plumage photos, taken in Florida a few years ago. By metering on the brightest whites, the background which was already in shade went very dark, adding to the drama. © Sandra Blair Prints are available, see Alt text. #birds #photography

Things are so crazy right now, I hope my photography can help distract you, at least momentarily, from the anger and fear a lot of us are feeling on a daily basis. I photographed this group of Snowy Egrets and some interesting abstract reflections while in Texas. © Sandra Blair #birds #photography

In addition to wading and water birds, and abstract patterns, I also photograph flowers. I'm lucky to live within 1.5 hours of one of the top botanical gardens in the country, Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square PA. This is a Dendrobium Darlin Imp 'Pink Showers' Orchid. © Sandra Blair
